We've been bad at zone since Pelini at the minimum. And we've struggled with zone in the short middle of the field, not on the edges, where outside of leverages, I don't see too much of a difference in the technical aspects, especially with regards to hip movements.
But we've played combo coverages since the Chavis era, and it would be hard for me to believe that Raymond isn't adept at coaching zone. Maybe Aranda has a particular preference for how he wants his safeties coached, but it also isn't like Raymond hasn't developed some good safeties.
