Ben Garrett (274/OM Spirit writer) linked an article of his on Twitter listing who he thought and knew were the main targets in OM coaching search. He had most of the names that have been floated around by everyone else but he included one that stuck out to me. According to Ben Garrett there is mutual interest with Scott Satterfield and Ole Miss. My vote doesn't count for shite but he'd be my pick.

That would be a step down from Louisville and he can have more success in the ACC than at Ole Miss in SEC west

Would be a good hire, but Norvell already knows how to recruit Memphis so I think he'd be the better choice.

Although the ACC is a much easier row to hoe, Ole Miss is in every way a better job still.

Satterfield is a hell of a coach. It's amazing he got 7 wins out of the disaster Petrino left.

Ole Miss is a better job, of course. But Louisville is easier to win and actually keep your job.

The ACC is trash. It shouldn't take much to at least be No. 2 behind Clemson.

I wouldn't be upset with hiring him. Would still prefer Norvell

Wouldn’t that make Louisville the better job? Easier to make the CFP. Easier to become a top tier program in the ACC. Great money as the HC, great support from the fans and an athletic department who wants to win.

What makes Ole Miss better? The SEC?

I would much rather compete in the ACC as Louisville than compete in the SEC as Ole dog Piss

He'd be the better choice for Ole Miss, but he's not going to choose Ole Miss. Its FSU or return for him this year. Only thing that changes that is Lincoln Riley or Rhule leaving for the pros.

Being in the SEC is a big part of it. More money for staff salary and usually better facilities.

Recruiting landscape also more favorable at OM although a tougher battle for the absolute best athletes.

Louisville will always favor basketball so fb program always second fiddle.

Better job is relative to who you ask and what their deciding factors are.

Of course you would. That's why you are afraid to play Clemson.

I just looked at his contract terms and I think your right. $5MM + what we have to pay for Luke not to coach is major $$$

Satterfield is a good coach. If he does well at Louisville for a few years, I think he could end up somewhere much bigger than Ole Miss.
