Is Georgia’s defense really that much better than Auburn’s or Florida’s?

I don't think their D Line is better than Auburn's, and that's really all that matters.

It. Does. Not. Matter.
No one will stop our offense.
NO. ONE.

Although I'd definitely give Auburn's D-Line the edge, UGA's may be the best from top-to-bottom that LSU has seen. Fundamentally, they are extremely sound. They don't miss many tackles and they've rarely given up big plays.

Can they slow down LSU?

Dunno. That's why they play the games.

It's all or nothing for UGA, and I expect they will take a lot of defensive risks to try and create turnovers. To me, that's they only way they can win this game. They need a couple of big turnovers in LSU territory.

Stat wise they are better.

In practice they have not exactly played great offenses.

A&M had a lot of success against them with the pass, and Auburn and Florida who are the better teams they have faced have 0 run game so it was pretty easy to sell out to stop the pass. Florida easily wins that game if they could generate any kind of a run game.

Florida put up 21-33, 257 YDS, 2 TD
Auburn 30-50, 245 YDS, 1 TD
Tennessee 14-28, 259 YDS, 2 TD, 1 INT
Notre Dame 29-47, 275 YDS, 2 TD, 2 INT

None of these teams have a Joe Burrow or a CEH.

These are the better teams UGA has played.
UGA is going to be a strong test, but the offenses they have put up these vaunted defensive numbers against are not exactly in the same ballpark as us.

Their Dline is not as good as Auburn, but they have a stud safety. I would suggest they are on par with Auburn and a bit better than Bama. Texas A&M moved the ball on UGA.

statistically they look better on paper but if you account who they played vs any SEC W team I don't think they are any better than Florida and certainly not better than Auburns front 7.

The Dawgs front 4 starters are not better than Auburn but UGA rotates a lot of players. 25 players are regulars on D. The problem for the D has been the offense. Most of the yards posted above were in the 4th quarter when the O cant stay on the field. D has given up a lot of 4th quarter yards the last 5 games.

UGA has the #1 defense in SP+, Auburn is 4th, Florida 8th.

They are the best defense we will face in the history of LSU football. Ability to stop us on a dime......

......... as it should be told to the offense.

Here is what is going to happen in the Georgia game: they keep it close the first half, maybe within 10 and then their defense wears down considerably as the game goes on and we blow them out of the water. It’ll be very similar to LSU Bama 2018.

If its a game in the 4th quarter then this comment is kind of telling. If you are giving up yards to Bo Nix, Trask, Mauer in the 4th then you are going to get torched by Burrow.

Here’s the thing. Even slowing us down, we can still put up over 30 unless we make mistakes.

I don’t think they score more than 20

Agree, this game is about the dawgs ability to run the ball and keep the D fresh and LSU off the field. If UGA loses TOP there is a zero percent chance of victory. In all those games (minus tenn) the O couldnt do anything in the 4th

this. UGA will force LSU to be patient, but LSU showed against Auburn and others they can do that. (500+ yards of offense against Auburn, but didn't convert into TDs in the red zone.)

I am not sure about that strategy. I think Burrow's stats are even better when he's blitzed.

Yes. They are slightly better. Slightly.
But neither of them slowed down LSU's offense.
Auburn managed to hold LSU under 30 by forcing some FGs in the redzone.
Don't mind all of the coach speak.

Is their offense better than Florida or Auburn?
Yes. They are slightly better. Slightly.
Only difference is that Fromm is better than Trask and Nix.

We know UGA can win close, low scoring games.
What happens when someone drops 500 yards and 40 points on them?

I don't necessarily mean blitzing.

Mixing up coverages, disguising coverages, showing schemes they've never shown before, etc.

Did you mean to say Florida? Bama's D is dog shite.
