Yeah here we are a few days away from the deal being approved by the board and then officially announced.

yeah do people not realize that Taggart didn't even sign a contract with FSU and just had their memo of understanding (or whatever name they used)?

we can have a deal done without an actual contract being signed. the way it was initially reported then pulled makes me think LSU asked the major media people to pull it b/c of something related to the team. probably how they're handling Stevie E. probably want to handle his public demotion with respect

Lot of the idiots on here have a goofy hardon at the idea of just kicking ole Steve to the curb and pissing on him. They don't get things like this.

Texas has no appeal. It’s such an overrated state. I’ve spent months at a time in that shithole. The entire state is propped up by an image that just simply isn’t an accurate depiction of life in Texas.

I actually think Brady would be stupid to leave LSU. If I were him, I would stay to be mentored by Ensminger and Ed O with the understanding that he will eventually be Ensminger's replacement and with a good chance of eventually becoming the head coach at LSU when Ed O retires probably in another 7 years. Not to mention, Brady is only 30 years old.

Why leave? LSU is one of the best places for him in college football and Coach O is one of the best head coaches to work for.

I mean, come on, the Texas job is very questionable as Herman is already on the hot season, which is why he fired Beck as his sacrificial lamb. If Herman has another season in 2020 similar to 2019, his arse is gone. Which means his coaching staff will also be gone.

If I was a young man like Brady, I'd stay to be mentored by the best of the best. As LSU under Ed O is going to be one of the most premier places in all of college football in the ensuing years.

It would simply be a bad career decision to make a lateral move

LSU will match any money or title. You already know where you stand at LSU in terms of personnel and influence.

Hard to disagree with Jordy here, assuming Brady is a logical person.

I believe contracts can be in place but not necessarily a done deal until approved by BOS. It happens all the time with HC raises. Usually, with exception of Herman, when contracts are agreed upon by 2 parties they are done deals.

No, Brady has been great but he’d not the only reason we’ve done so tell.

What is interesting about this whole situation is the fact that when Coach Ensminger announced that he would take the role of Offensive Co-Ordinator it was played out like this was a favor for Coach Oeaux and Ensminger had no interest in doing this long term! So here we are, next year will be year 3 as OC for Ensminger! Brady knows what he is doing. Why don't we just give him the Crown for the Offense and allow Ensminger to go back to TE's like he was before?

You're very obviously wrong. The primary reason why the LSU football team is in the position it is in today is because of Joe Burrow and the fact that Ed O went out and got him has been absolutely critical to the overall success of the team.

Not to mention that the friendship first developed by Steve Ensminger with Joe Brady followed by Ensminger recommending to Ed O to hire him as the Passing Game Coordinator to replace the retiring Jerry Sullivan, and then to work with him together to develop a new offensive scheme had a lot to do with that overall success as well.

Per my previous post, the most plausible scenario for Brady leaving is for him to follow Burrow to the Bengals. Cincy has the need and the deep pockets to lure him away.

Texas doesn't realize Joe Brady was barely out of High School the last time they were relevant

Exactly. And judging by what I’m reading here in Texas, Herman has one more year, if that, to get it going (I think Texas is worse next year) before they show him the door. Brady wants no part of that dumpster fire

Since O has put this thing together, let’s watch and see what his next step will be.

He knows exactly what Brady brings to the table and all reports indicate that LSU is ready to write a big check to keep him.

Who cares what his title is?

Why would Brady go to Texas anyway? Wasn't Herman an OC? Makes more sense if he is with a defensive minded coach so he can have total control.
