BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Another Baton Rouge business has appeared to shut its doors for good on Sunday morning.

VooDoo BBQ & Grill on Nicholson Drive near LSU appears to have closed after a sign stated the restaurant is no longer open for business.

Someone needs to explain to me why a city the size of Baton Rouge can’t support a decent BBQ restaurant.

It’s really strange. Especially, with all the students from Texas that appreciate bbq and being so close to campus. Walking/biking distance from anywhere on campus.

Probably not the best BBQ, but definitely decent enough for a college campus.

I see what you’re saying from a gourmet’s standpoint. But for a college campus, sure it’s serviceable/decent.

Exactly. BBQ is such a high price point these day you have to put out a really good product to succeed.

True, but the competition around them for BBQ isn’t that great

1) Voodoo BBQ is trash

2) Louisiana isn’t BBQ country

3) BRQ is good(or at least decent) BBQ

Not a BBQ bastion, I agree, but it’s definitely a growing scene, especially in New Orleans.

voodoo is terrible though. Inedible food is not going to make it even in Baton Rouge.

that franchise had a chance if they’d only have given some care and thought to the food. They were first in the area to make a go of BBQ and the partners had money

The one on Drusilla is still open. They must be doing well.

At the rate places are closing in Baton Rouge, I don't know who is doing well.

Probably Ruths Chris, and Superior.

So many closures as of late. I’d bet that Ruth’s and Superior are doing well. J. Alexander’s seems to know what they’re doing as they’ve been open for over 20 years.

Always found Voodoo to be average at best...the location on Nicholson was terrible....anything north of campus will struggle to make it....very surprised it lasted this long
