Ear plugs bro. I wouldn’t want my kids listening to game of thrones.

he was wearing them. I forgot to include the link

SCM2323 went on to state that the traveler used headphones throughout, and that the inflight entertainment system offered “various movies and [TV] shows that were also not suited for children,” although SM2323 added that none of the content offered on the plane appeared to be as graphic as “Game of Thrones.”

Edit: I want to clarify a few things that were mentioned in the comments: - I was wearing headphones all the time. - It was a flight with Swiss from Europe to a city in the United States. The in-flight entertainment system offered various movies and tv shows that were also not suited for children. However I have to admit that probably none was as bad as GoT. However, none of these shows was censored as far as I can tell. - I'm not sure exactly where (aisle, middle or window) the kid was sitting since it was behind me and I think they switched seats frequently.

That was added to the original reddit post so seems he did everything he should have.

I've watched GoT on a plane before. She needs to parent her kid. It's not my job to censor what I want to watch because her son might be looking over my shoulder.

What does the OT think about this scenario?

If he's got his earbuds in and is just sitting in his seat watching the movie, frick that mom. Maybe her kid should be focused on his own stuff and not what other people are watching.

NOT an a-hole

I think some consideration should be made. However if the person really was two rows back unless the kid was on the aisle how the heck would he see anything?

Now that Delta is allowing R-rated gay shite on their flights it should get interesting.

Of course the guy is an a-hole for watching this. For whatever reason, social awareness and common courtesy for people around you got thrown out the window. There is absolutely nothing wrong with having the decency (or expecting someone to have it) to not watch something like that with children around.

I would consider asking someone not to watch graphic rape scenes in a public setting where my family has an assigned seat in viewing distance “parenting my kid,” but I’m a little old fashioned.

I watch them and DGAF.

I have difficulty seeing other passengers video anyways from a blur in the screen that helps prevent that. I assume it does it for others too.

Plus I dont really care, I paid for the seat/or having to endure the flight.

You must be, because I wouldn't consider that parenting at all. That is attempting to change another adult's actions. Parenting would be to tell your kid to not watch the other person's screen that is sitting 2 rows in front of you.

Jesus Karen. Just wait fifteen minutes and he'll finish his business and zip up. First I couldn't smoke on a plane and now this?

It seems like the only way this could happen is if both the kid and GOT-watcher were in an aisle seat, so you’d think the parent switching spots with the kid would resolve this

I’m probably wrong tho

I try to be respectfully those around me on flights and look for kids if I'm going to watch something on my IPad that might be questionable. However, this women is two rows back?! She needs to entertain her kid.

A few years ago, I made the "mistake" of downloading "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" original with subtitles, based on the recommendation of a friend. I know absolutely nothing about the movie. The woman next to me asked what I was going to watch and I told her. She says something nice and I go about watching. I get to the rape scene that I had no idea was coming and I freak. I quickly close my IPad and look over. She is laughing her arse off! She says she had seen the movie and read the books. She didn't say anything and she wanted to see me react. She said I turned multiple shades of red.

Two things:

How does someone two rows behind on a plane tap you?

And, yea he's an a-hole bc GOT is garbage now and he shouldn't be making other people watch it.

You have no control over what the other person is watching, so it's best to control the variable that you have control over, your kid. If you can't control your kid, that's on you, not someone else.

Also, it's not porn, it's short graphic scenes.

fricking helicopter parents trying to affect other people's lives because they don't want to parent their own kids.

Considering its softcore porn, I would be mindful of what can be seen by nearby passengers. Would you be pissed if someone stunk near you? Similar effect. You stink and these people are letting you know.

Has anyone actually bought or seen anyone buy a Playboy in the airport? Never understood why they even offered them for sale.
