You have no control over what the other person is watching, so it's best to control the variable that you have control over, your kid. If you can't control your kid, that's on you, not someone else.

Also, it's not porn, it's short graphic scenes.

fricking helicopter parents trying to affect other people's lives because they don't want to parent their own kids.

So you’d watch GOT in a setting where a 10-year-old was in the room and couldn’t leave?

Once again, you’re not a parent so I don’t really know why I expect you to really be able to grasp the issue here.

Similar effect. You stink and these people are letting you know.

not really. It’s pretty easy to avoid looking at an ipad screen. It’s impossible to avoid a bad smell on an airplane.

I watch porn on the plane until they ask me to put it away, but they have to say please.

Game of Thrones has been offered on planes for in-flight viewing for years. Evidently the airlines didn’t see a problem with it.

So go for it.

European airlines have R rated shows provided and there not censored.

If I was watching it on an iPad with headphones on? Yes. It's not like this kid was seated right next to person watching it. According to the story, he was 2 rows back. The parent can do many things to attempt to mitigate the issue before asking someone else to stop watching the show.

Here’s the thing parents need to understand. It’s YOUR kid. Not mine. YOUR responsibility. Not mine.

It seems like the only way this could happen is if both the kid and GOT-watcher were in an aisle seat,

This is the only way. No way someone two rows behind could see anyone's screen unless both parties were in the opposite aisle seats.

mother should have switched seats with her child if she didn't want her kid watching what someone else watched. That is on her.

Right, the fact that I'm not a parent doesn't matter. If you want non-parents to understand your perspective, and agree with you on something like this, you can't just disregard their opinion because they aren't a parent.

People like the movie watcher and the supporters in this thread are why WiFi calling should not be allowed on flights.

If you have to wait to be told that what you are doing is not appropriate in public, there is something wrong with you. Your parents raised a selfish brat with little or no self-awareness. I hope your emotional support animal is there to comfort you.

Bad take. It's just like the smelly person take earlier in the thread. You can't direct your smelling/hearing in a different direction. Looking at someone else's screen is an active action, smelling and hearing are passive actions.

This. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't tap on someone's shoulder and handle it the way she did, but also understand the situation. Should it be illegal? No, but you also should understand where you are.

It seems you are in the minority. I just sit back, read the paper or a book and nap, like God intended.

As long as it's not porn and you use headphones, why not.
Get back seats.
