I don't grasp how families make it.

My sister and her husband make decent money and live modestly. He works a great job in Sterlington at the plant and she is a teacher.

But They have three kids. She comments often on how difficult it is to get ahead and stay ahead. They will begin to save and then some occurrence will happen and the price is outrageous.

For example. Her insurance is pure shite. She pays for insurance each month for the family, and when it is needed most they are fricked. My nephew got the flu. The cost of his medicine is $204.

I told her they may need to downsize their life and live in a smaller home. But the home isn't big at all: 3 bedroom 2 bath. Nothing special. Combined income is about 80,000 a year I suppose.

She broke down crying in drug store.

But the federal reserve and trumpeter says inflation is in control and best economy ever.

Truth is the destruction of the dollar and the absent rise in wages to match is fricking the middle class. You can blame the family for not living within their means, but if all these families did so you would see how poor we have truly become. Debt and easy credit is what makes things look better than they really are.

The federal reserve talking about negative interest rates and Trump never addressing these scoundrels and destroying those who save forcing them to chase returns in the monopoly is not sound policy.

This next downturn in economy we face, which will happen regardless of politician affiliation, will be worst than we likely ever seen.

I keep tabs on the price of food personally weekly with an app on my phone. The rise in groceries has been ridiculous just the past year alone. 30%-50% jumps in goods that I have bought for years.

How long they can keep the charade going with economy will be as long as people continue to live with their heads up their arse or don't care or willing to do anything about it.

Many families know-how to cheat the system. I know some myself. Rich folks who kids are able to get on Medicaid or receive benefits through tricks. Small business owners never giving an inch to employees as everything is right with margins and can't afford to do so.

Nation will be East Baton Rouge, Detroit, Baltimore, New Orleans, Austin, West Coast, in next 20 years. Bank on it.

Then they shouldn't have had 3 kids.

People need to learn to live within their means.

does not compute. Sounds like neither have a good job. Good jobs these days have good insurance, even in poor states like MS.

$80k with 3 kids, need to learn how to budget. I know families that get by with less that don't struggle and aren't on that government teat either.

Have you ever worked for a business that you knew was failing?

That's kind of how the economy and really our whole economic system seem to me.

Who is to say we won't have another great depression? Except now families are small and scattered, and shared communal trust is severely lessened if not gone completely.

I do think we have our heads in the sand. I hope that the answer lies in something we don't know about yet.

Crock of absolute shite.

My grocery bill is about the same it has been for years. Slightly and i do mean slightly higher.

Don't try to make a point and then load your point with pure bullshite. Groceries have not gone up 30 to 50%. Nope.

Why three kids? I would imagine it's because of sex.

There is a lot of truth to this. My wife and I make pretty good money (I'm an attorney and she is a banker), but with three kids it is tough as hell. I dont see how I could do it on 80k per year

my wife hasn't said anything about this

as long as Democrats continue to sell this idea that government can fix our problems, you're probably right.

Lots of people making it, hell some even thrive. Couldn't make it in parts of California or New York, but $80k in the most of the South is a decent amount of money.

We already had it in terms of the Great Recession. Another event on that scale would be crazy.

I doubt they make $80K or less if he works in a plant. She probably makes close to $40k as a teacher.

Sounds to me like they 1. either they can not manage money or 2. should not have had 3 children.
