I mean how many times will we hear the "defense has to get better"? They aren't getting better...

Dline has no athleticism to shed blocks and make tackles at line of scrimmage, dline is slow

Lbers do not fill/scrape sideline to sideline and absolutely no reckless abandon...we soft ...

DBs, sorry Corey, we old friends but dbs are soft ,they get juked out of their minds by qbs, running backs and get often confused in the secondary when running zone, they even get burned running man to man...not too mention ,not one wants to knock the shite out of anybody, 7 bouncing off people...

ARANDA,
your scheme doesn't work, yeah u did a couple wrinkles in first half to apply pressure on tua, but saban adjusted the shite out of you in second half and showed just how elementary you are not to mention all year..name one game where the "defense" has win a game for us?...not one game ...u have consistently sat back and let your defense bend so much and left your dbs out to dry in the passing game, no pressure at all....

Overall fundamental football with tackling, reading your keys in presnap and playing your area, gap, zone etc , just assignments and preparation week to week ,well your players look lost most of the time. It's sickening...

All this for 2.5 million? I can tell you this, coach orgeron needs a complete change in defemse in coaching because the philosophy in down isn't there...Lsu has had the same type players athlete wise over the years and have produced where this team hasnt...I've seen this happening for 3 years on defense...a Change needs to happen before spring...it's all business and Aranda should walk...

It seems like an adjustment issue

The defense plays overall fine in the first half of games

The 2nd half is a different story (except UF)

Even in the first half of UF, Florida was bailed out on some drives by penalties, and two dropped interceptions.

I just don't think we were prepared for the zone read, or the way that Ole Miss runs the zone read.

Here’s my question.

What scheme works with slow unathletic DL and soft LBs?

Realistically this Front 4 is no where near what we thought it would be.

Shelvin is good Chaisson is good but hcant close on the QB.

Lawrence and Logan have been disappointing

Everything reflects the person at the top on defense...the leader in defense needs to be replaced... It ain't about how much u can talk the game...did you play the game, can you relate what you teach to the players?

Defensive play reflects the dc...

It’s time to stop sugarcoating it.

Lsu’s defense stinks.

It’s a bad defense.

I also don't think we were prepared for the zone read or that counter play that Ole Miss runs. The counter was remarkably effective, as it used the aggressiveness of the LBs and the safeties against them.

I've seen poor technique over and over by chassion...he is out of control...shelvin is too slow to shed a block and Sprint down line and make a tackle...he makes plays when the rb runs at him lol....I've never seen a dlineman get down the line(laterally) and make a play...fundamanetals look bad across the board

So vs Texas the main concern was to stop Ehlinger running and Vs Ole Miss, what was the strategy? Stop Plumlee's prolific passing?

My new theory is that we were fine when we had Devin White, because Devin knew Aranda's brain as well as his own and could be another Aranda on the field.

Without someone like that, guys just end up out of position and hit the wrong gaps.

So, I think we just need better player leadership. But Aranda wanted all of the guys that we have -- that doesn't excuse him at all.

Whatever arandas scheme was in each game, both failed horribly 9m defense and without Brady and the change on offense this year, we most likely would have lost our 4th game this year last night...we have seen burrow in the old offense last year versus this year...we lucky....

These nitwits on here thinks the defense is OK. Get rid of Aranda after the season. He's a joke.

Somethings not right with Delpit.

Don’t know if it’s his injury nagging him, he’s tentative because he’s afraid of reinjuring it, he’s tentative because he’s thinking of his draft stock, but he’s not the same.

Sad to say but for the price, we can do better paying way less and many coaches would take less to do a better job, it can get any worse...if you've been there even hs coaches are wondering ,wtf is going on...

The defense isn’t ok but nitwits like yourself are ignorant for wanting to get rid of him when it’s obvious that depth and talent are issues. Besides that O lobbied hard to retain Aranda so Aranda isht going anywhere.

Blackledge was pointing out numerous times how our safeties Delpit and Stevens constantly take poor angles.

It’s like they underestimate opponents speed, overestimate their own abilities, are poorly coached, or are not listening to coaches.
