I have said this many times also, had Miles not followed Saban, no way he has the same success.
Must be a Mid West mentality. Dinardo had the same problem.
After Dinardo was fired, when asked why he didn't bring in a proven successful OC, he answered. I would have been forced to learn an totally new offense.
What a way to run a multi million program.

LSU is having a great season and you waste your time and ours by shitting on Les Miles.
When at minimum 50% of this board was praising Miles and shitting on Coach O in 15 and 16.
This is well deserved. Miles was a good recruiter and motivator but his scheme and on-field decisions and clock management were shite.

Mett, we had a 3,000 yard quarterback
1,800 yards on 3rd down because we ran into the defense on 1st and 2nd.
This is 100% fact. The best WR group in the country that year and Les shite the bed because of how he used them.

That was 2013 right? We were 40th (6 SEC teams had more yards per game) in the country in total yards per game that year, 54th in passing yards per game that year..... And we lost 3 games.
LSU was #3ypa Nat and you can't worry about ypg with so many G5 running hunh, unless maybe comparing a team that does also.
Defense was down some in 2013 and a factor in 3 losses.
Not sure why everyone is focused on the past when the future looks bright anyway.
Much more info could be gleaned from 2018 to 2019 differences.

And how did we rank nationally in offensive categories that year?
Folks always bring this up, fact is everyone is putting up record offensive numbers this decade, and while that was a high water mark for Les, it's all relative. That was 2013 right? We were 40th (6 SEC teams had more yards per game) in the country in total yards per game that year, 54th in passing yards per game that year. And we lost 3 games.
The biggest problem Miles had was being predictable. Because of that he was consistently running into stacked boxes and throwing at 5 and 6 Db's. It is amazing we had the success we did.
Thank the lord for Defensive talent and coaches that he did not mess with.

Ed plays to WIN, less played to not lose by too much

Les had an IQ 75% of O’s.
Hmmm. One guy has an economics degree (not a football degree) from a school with a noted economics program and one has a degree from Northwestern state, I con't find what it is in specifically.
Having nothing else to base it on, I can't really agree with your assessment. Football ain't rocket science, so the fact that one guy is better than another (assuming you get folks to agree with that) is not an indication of IQ.
Also, why would a true fan of the school want to crap on the coach with the highest winning percentage at your school?

And still somehow figured out how to finish 7th in the SEC in total offense. With two guys who weren't just pro receivers but fricking ALL PRO the day they arrived. And a RB who was in the running for rookie of the year.
Fun fact. Burrow has already thrown for more yards and 11 more TDs in 4 less games.
Get a grip.

Are you still drunk?
Les might have gotten Burrow but he sure as hell wouldn't have gotten Brady. That is why he was fired. His allegiance to Cam Cameron was his undoing.

It's a fact....you can call it dumb if that makes you feel better, doesn't change it.
And 23rd nationally with that talent, still leaving meat on the bone IMHO.

I'm not focused on that just discussing, I can be vary happy and still have discussions on football topics of the past, it doesn't take away from it al all for me.

bullshite.....nothing that idiot ever did here supports that
ETA Les is in the perfect place for him.....a school where the wins he pulls out if his arse are magnified as successes and the one he loses that he should win (which will be far more often) are forgotten quickly.....I mean the bar of success there is beating f'ing K State.

Not sure how anyone could actually think this being he got mettenberger just 2 years before his firing.
Extremely similar situations

And your point is? He squandered the 2011 teams talent by getting outcoached in the natty by saban...bad, like embarrassingly bad. Don't tell me it was bc of Jefferson not being capable of running a passing offense like we have now, bc guess who signed his arse out of hs...miles. so, there goes that excuse. Why? Bc he ran the same shite he did in the previous game against them earlier that season in the title game. He didn't change shite! We only managed 3 fgs and happened to beat them tht year 9-6 and he thought somehow that saban wasn't going to be able to stop it the second time around in Nola when he did it already earlier in the season? It's hard headed shite like that miles did that pissed me off and everybody knew what he was going to try to do before he even did it. He was going to continue to try and bash teams around until they broke, well, bama was built for that dumbass approach and shut us out in the natty. Les didn't even change the game plan from the first time around lol. He didn't try anything different during the natty and made zero adjustments to at least try something different. So, spare the bs and call a spade a spade. Don't act like miles would have this team performing like we are right now under O, bc we wouldn't even have this offense, Brady or burrow if miles was still here. Miles squandered more talent and underachieved more than any coach I can remember. Hell, even in our national title season in 07, we fricking lost to Arkansas and Kentucky...ARKY AND KENTUCKY! So, get real and cut out the bs, give me O everyday over miles. Not even close.
True. How can people not see this?

I'm not sure how anyone could thing that Burrow and Mettenberger are even close to the same QB or run close to the same offense.
Burrow would never have looked at LSU under Miles.....Miles flat refused to use any of the concepts that Burrow is outstanding at.

Never forget that as an analyst, that moron said the key to beating Bama was to attack their strength until they broke

This, and it’s funny that people try to deny things like this.

You can only run the offense your QB is capable
That offense finished 34th in the country
Only scored 17 against Bama
It’s not anywhere close to this offense
Miles would have never run an offense anywhere close to this

Yeah he didn't ever have a winning season, never won SEC championships, never won a natty, did he?
Here is a sad fact for all of you Les Miles haters. He did more for LSU than any of you ever will. While we are on the subject, what have YOU ever done, baw?
Les Miles haters just show the depth of ignorance around here.
But since your personal lives are such shite cans I suppose you need to crap on some one that has actually achieved something to make yourselves feel better.
