Not sure how anyone could actually think this being he got mettenberger just 2 years before his firing.

Extremely similar situations

Mettenberger was kicked out of Ga and came to us from JC.

JB was a 3-year graduate who could go anywhere and was going to lose all his eligibility had he stayed at Ohio State.

However, the kicker would have been that meeting that was going to be 30 min and went for over 3 hrs to discuss offensive philosophy. No way would Miles and his OC had the same effect as SE and coach O.

Don’t apologize for the long post. Everything you said is about 70-80% how I felt. Beginning with the Ole Miss collapse in 2009, Natty in 2012, Peach Bowl on NYE In 2012, (that game set me over the edge) ending with Dak Prescott (who Les didn’t want to recruit, but later offering him to play TE) coming into Tiger Stadium and embarrassing us.

I can’t believe after all of what Tiger nation has gone through in the last 8 years there are still Les apologists. Have y’all ever wondered why we lost so many juniors to the NFL despite some not being NFL ready? Think about it.

The recruitment stories of Dak Prescott, Landon Collins and Travis Etienne are a few of many that will make you shake your head. Les was warned for years by High School coaches, almuni, And supporters of the program that Saban is pouring a lot of resources in Louisiana and he’s on the verge of getting these kids. Les didn’t listen.

What O said after the game is the start of the new Tiger mindset. We will beat their arse in recruiting and we will beat their arse every time they see us”

“This is the first time and you bet your a$$ it won’t be the last”

Y’all don’t know how much I loved listening to it.

He didn't do shite....the LSU football program accomplished those things on the back of something that one man put in place. Miles nearly completely drove it into the ground being an insubordinate POS.

He did more for LSU than any of you ever will.

Not really I gave a lot of money to LSU he didn't...I'm sure you never did either....your GED is showing baw! Miles was paid handsomely by LSU to keep the ship floating which he failed to do at the end.

But since your personal lives are such shite cans I suppose you need to crap on some one

Hah....says the guy that has to come on the message board to suck the dick of a guy coaching football at freaking Kansas ...pathetic.

About to be fired. He had to throw a hail Mary. He was running out of people to point his fingers at. Landed Brady and saved his arse.

Went find a kicker, went find a QB, killing recruiting, has been working to improve the offense since he got the job, won 10 games when most predicted 7 win season.

So who said he was about to get fired?

Sounds like Bull shite to me.

Les won a NC, 2 SEC Championships, 3 SEC W titles and beat Bama 5 times vs 1?

In short.... Let's not start crowning anything yet.

What they told him in that meeting is a mystery. We had no offensive strategy at the time that Burrow had ever run. They either lied to him or sold him on what we could create in the future. Joe flatly stated that he ran an offense last year he had never run before and was uncomfortable with some aspects of it. O really is a great salesman. We don’t get Brady this year, our offense looks like last year and we’re still a 2-3 loss team. O saved the season, and possibly his job and our future with the combination of hooking Joe and Brady. For that he deserves great credit.

The difference I see between Ed and Les by Powerman
Another big difference is O actually follows through with what he says he is going to do

. This. It was frustrating to hear Miles say one thing and do another. It got so bad I began to just consider him flat out dishonest because I don’t think he just changed his mind- I believe he would say things knowing he was not going to do them or not try to do them . .

Les Miles is Larry Coker. If les miles followed Dinardo he would have been fired in 3 years

That’s because of the crappy job he was doing. We were predicted to lose 4 or 5 games because O set the bar that low the previous year. You act like he wasn’t responsible for that. We won 10 games and while that was an improvement it was in no way what he had promised. He wasn’t about to get fired but the expectations for a revamped offense were hanging over him. He promised it. It hadn’t materialized. He doesn’t get Brady and turn the offense around and losses to Bama again- while still having difficulty scoring- another 3 loss season possibly- the rumblings of “this is exactly what we had before” are very loud. The mood turns very somber. BUT he did what he said. He made the right moves. He gets all the credit for that. But never think the low expectations going into last season were at the feet of anyone but him.

[quote]Les would have similar offensive success this year as LSU HC if Burrow was his QB

he would have trusted burrow and the WRs[/quo

Joe the Ohio transfer play for a "Michigan Man"? In a 3 yards and a cloud of dust offense? No way that would happen.

Les would have never hired Brady. Why fix something when it wasn't broke? (At least in Les's eyes)

The problem with that offense was it was easier to defend than the offense now. They spread you out now and create mismatches and actually scheme teams whereas the miles offense was bang it and play action and go deep. Miles' formations and players within the formations were very predictable. Miles was an arrogant pig headed fool. He wasn't a dumb man but let his arrogance of trying to show the fanbase/ elite opposing teams his way was good enough lead him out the door. I said on here and to my family and friends after the championship debacle he would never win another championship and unfortunately he proved me right.

The difference is simple to explain and absolutely irrefutable:

-- Coach Miles's teams were rather undisciplined and often looked like a poorly-coached team.

-- Coach O's team this season looks disciplined and well-coached.

Final point: Coach Miles would not have Joe Brady helping with the Offense.

I agree with you that, from what I remember observing, last year's LSU team looked better disciplined and better coached than many of Coach Miles's LSU teams.
