The odds are they did.

But the NCAA using this as an excuse =\= Memphis buying Wiseman. Bust someone for what happened, not some petty bullshite.

Once again, did Duke not buy Zion? What about Kentucky’s annual crops?

Play by the same rules

e. If he ‘bought’ Wiseman, then I hope Memphis gets penalized.

frick the NCAA.

I mean have you even read the story? Lol if you don’t think he was bought I don’t know what to tell you. And this isn’t some internet rumors. His lawyer literally admitted he moved him and his family to Memphis in 2018 to play for his AAU team. The dude is a booster

And you’re speaking out of both sides of your mouth. Punish them if they’re guilty but also let them play by everyone else’s rules? Seems like you’re just mad at UNC, duke and Kentucky

I’m mad at the governing organization that allowed this to get out of hand in the first place.

This is the same organization that stripped a D3 football championship because a coach lent his players a 10 year old car on a couple of occasions.

If you have any faith in the NCAA, then you haven’t done your research.

How does Shelby County have any jurisdiction over what the NCAA does?

Curious to see if they will have to forfeit the game.

Would Penny have helped the kid if he wasn't a 7 footer?

Probably so. Penny a generous sort of fellow. Always looking for ways to help others in his community. Even if he has to bring them to his community first.

Coaches out there on record paying players and the NCAA pulls this over a non-NCAA coach paying dude's family $11,500 to move.

Sure.

Heck, is that all it is? The NCAA is absolutely ridiculous in their selective targeting and enforcement of their various antiquated rules.

Gary Parrish @GaryParrishCBS I’d be happy to be wrong about James Wiseman. But, like I said today on radio, sitting your best player during an entire preaseason trip AND your first exhibition when he’s “alright” — with the regular season just 12 days away — is not normal. It suggests something isn’t right. Quote Tweet Drew Hill @DrewHill_DM · Oct 24 "Absolutely no panic" with Wiseman sitting out tonight vs. CBU. Strictly precautionary. He's alright.

Hmmm, seems like a Memphis knew all along that there was an issue with Wiseman way before the season started. Parish called it back in October.

Meh, Parrish is a goofy moron from Hernando. What does he know?

J/K. I heard him on my way home from work this afternoon. There's been smoke around Wiseman for awhile and he said he just couldn't talk about it then. Hopefully, it gets straightened out and the guy gets to play basketball. After all, he didn't even know about the money. I mean, he said he didn't. Who are we to not believe him?

$11,500 to "move" 200 miles from Nashville to Memphis. A UHaul is what? $300?

And Memphis' statement says that they needed "several months of interviews and, after a review of documentation" to figure out Wiseman wasn't eligible. Sounds like Penny withheld info.

I know people who have been offered $20K by their employer to relocate.

Are you that poor that you think $11.5K is an absurd amount of money for all moving expenses?
