re: How do you see Aranda defending the Alabama receivers?

IDK.
I haven't watched enough CFB this year but I don't think we can go straight man vs Bama's top-4 WRs.
Maybe Aranda sees some trends that he can prepare for.
My best guess is to be unpredictable - some man, some zone, some blitz, diamond and 1 (that's hoops right?).

We'll need more maximum blitz packages and linebacker blitzes.
I don't know why Aranda doesn't put more pressure on the QB. Even a bad QB like Bo Nix had forever to throw the ball. It.was.frustrating.

I think you see a similar gameplan that we had against Texas except with much improved tackling. there were 4 or 5 missed tackles that really kept UT in that game.

Best way to attack an offense is play aggressive with their best players

This is going to be a track meet between both teams wide receivers...who ever has to punt 2 or 3 times is going to lose...

I am hoping we mix up the blitz, drop lbs to cut off the crossing routes.
Make WRs run to the short side of the field,
I would also run the Ball more if they can't stop it. Can't believe I'm saying that.

The thing with Alabama is the receivers must be tackled in space immediately upon making a catch. If tackles in space are missed, then they could take it all the way to the house.
My biggest concern going into this game is Cary Vincent who has been LSU's weakest link on the defense every game this season since the season began. I'm sure Alabama will exploit that vulnerability every opportunity they get and as much as possible.
Not to mention, that Jerry Jeudy is also the slot receiver as well who is, unfortunately, Vincent's man. Vincent must have his best game of the year this upcoming Saturday. As he can't afford to miss any tackles in space like he is notorious for doing.
They may have to move Fulton to his spot and play one of the young cornerbacks in Fulton's normal spot. If I was Aranda, I'd have a contingency plan ready for that vulnerably in case.

Make them pay on those quick short slants across the middle! Hold them up to the linebackers can also get a shot at them!

Bama’s best at getting the ball in the hands of their athletes and letting them make huge YAC. I think we have to force them into short throws and tackle better. This will force them into long drives and not making mistakes. If Tua plays then dropping 7-8 will help this but make him beat us on the ground. If their backup plays then sustained drives will be more challenging for him and one mistake put them behind the down and distance.

Everyone talking about getting pressure is right. I was optimistic & then Justin Thomas + Michael Divinity left the team. Bama has allowed 9 sacks.
42 is the floor for LSU winning. Take the over.

If we run a ton of man, they are going to use those crossing pick routes. We would need pass rush out of our front 4

If I were Aranda, I would blitz like crazy and tell my DBs to jump every route they can.
The team that gets a few stops probably wins this game. A turnover or two would be worth getting beat deep a few times. Hell, if they are going to score, I’d rather them do it quickly.

We’re going to run man with some short zone sits with our LBers underneath to cut the crossers I would assume.

The problem with that is that at least one of these three (or four) WR's will beat that every time. Then it's off to the races.
You're assuming he finds that ONE every time

Mug em at the line of scrimmage they are all scrawny dudes. I think Marshall is going to go off this game

No one has really shut down this group of receivers, and they're all a matchup problem
Not going to deny that they have been an impressive group this season, but at the same time, have they faced a big time defense yet? They will break a long one here or there, but I feel confident that Aranda will figure out a way to slow their production this week...

The tide will score...however, aranda will have this group ready to go.....a lot of zone coverage and droping 8!! This will be a coming out party for this defense that has struggle most to the year.

I honestly think everything we have seen from Aranda this season has been a set up for this weekend. He will mix in zone with man, which is why he experimented so much with it. He will blitz more often on passing situations , which is why he DID NOT previously do so very much. A good chunk of the work our analysts perform is self scouting or tendencies. I am really excited to see the wrinkles on both sides that we use to disrupt the Alabama game plane. In 2011, Les pulled out the speed option and dropped a lot of guys into coverage. It’s one of the few times her ever “out coached” someone, let alone Saban.

light dey asses up on the slant and they will think twice about going over the middle again... just dont get a targeting call.. dey gonna be lookin fur dat shi.

Truth is that LSU will score plenty on bama when we play up tempo. It will come down to Our d getting 3-4 stops and a turnover. That will allow us to win by 7-10.
I think that’s doable.
