Tough scene for her
Too bad for her that no one could give her a hand. Would you ever go diving in the open ocean? I wouldn’t.

The 35-year-old woman was swimming in the waters off Moorea island on a whale-watching trip on Monday, according to Radio New Zealand, when she was attacked by an oceanic whitetip shark that ripped into her chest and arms, the AFP reports.

Shark attacks are said to be rare in French Polynesia, with only 6 confirmed unprovoked shark attacks reported since 1580, according to the International Shark Attack File (ISAF) of the Florida Museum of Natural History, which claims to be the "world's only scientifically documented, comprehensive database of all known shark attacks."

Can I get a show of hands from anyone who has dove in French Polynesia before?

I'm sure her husband/boyfriend wants to know if anything else was bitten off. I'm sure there were no shortage of volunteers to lend a hand in administering first aid to the victims chest.
"Apply firm pressure!"

Aren't these frickers perpetually near starvation just because of their environment?

Brings a whole new meaning to the idea of preying hands.

probably should have read the whale watching safety handbook before diving in

The most surprising part about this is that they keep records of shark attacks going back to 1580

She can save a couple bucks on winter gloves now.
