Rewatching the game and he turned on the burners on that touchdown run

Clyde has unbelievable lateral quickness. He’s playing his arse off and is doing great. I definitely wouldn’t call him fast though.

When did Clyde turn into Emmitt fricking Smith!? That’s what I want to know. He went beast mode last night

His top end speed isn't great but his acceleration and lateral quickness are really goid.

He doesn’t run a 4.47 lol

High school 40 times are not accurate

He’s quick not fast.

He can accelerate from zero to his max speed very quickly. However he doesn’t have elite top speed. Just above average.

Very similar to Sproles.

He doesn’t have a quick first step forward to the hole. However, now that the line is getting better at shielding and holding blocks long enough, he’s looking a lot better. Once you get him to the 2nd level, his cutting and leg strength are problems for smaller defenders.

So he's fast, but not really fast?

You don't have to have elite top speed to be fast.

All running backs look better when they aren’t getting hit behind the line of scrimmage. CEH has played well all year. Big difference last night was the push we got up front.

He's quick, and not at all slow. But he doesn't have that extra gear to out run the secondary and some linebackers to house big runs. But I'll take solid pass protection and chunk yardage over not knowing assignments, getting the QB sacked, and long rushing TDs every time.

When Florida backed six guys out of the box, and LSU outnumbered them in the running game.

This. Clyde is a slow RB. He fakes guys out of their undies, though.

ditto.

I honestly think he is getting faster as the season goes on. There is a reason that Guide raved about this guy.

Emmitt is a good comparison. He didn't have elite speed either. He was shifty and had great vision.

I wanted to see emery and price all year until last night. Teams are finally having to respect the pass of LSU, that has opened up the run game. My god did CEH look different last night. Feed that man the fricking ball baby. He was beast last night. He was breaking ankles all night.

He's quick, shifty, and hits the jets quick, but he was chased down on that long run.
