The protesters demands are never going to be approved. This isn’t South Africa trying to defend apartheid. This is a citizenry that has dramatically more “rights” than the rest of the country having a protective temper tantrum. Everyday life in HK is pretty boring. This is fun and exciting for a bunch of students and young people
The demands are on par with the Green New Deal in terms of detachment from reality
China is who they are. Foreign pressure is not going to change that

To be fair, Trump has addressed it a few times since it all started. He's asked for China's leader to meet personally with the protesters to come to a humane resolution.

I’ve seen liberals high fiving eachother every time the stock market takes a hit and then cheer on China during this whole China Tarif standoff. Trump has done more damage to China than anyone I can remember in the last 25 years easy. Just cuz he didn’t openly bash China in this ONE instance doesn’t mean he suddenly is working with China. He’s simply pointing out the hypocrisy here amongst some of the more outspoken NBA figures.

Trump is knee deep in negotiations with China over trade issues and he thinks it's a good idea to talk shite to an NBA coach over something that is currently causing China to straight up cancel NBA events and ban the Rockets?
