Snowfall expected in Denver/Summit County this week. Keystone, Copper, A-Basin & others have fired up the snow makers!

Nice! Just booked a trip to Vail the week before Christmas, hoping for a good early season out there

Skied for the first time in my 38 years last spring break. Got a trip to steamboat booked for 1/25-1/29. Can’t wait.

Love Steamboat! Smaller mountain by CO standards but I just freaking love that place and the town!

Flight to HDN from MLU, 3 day lift tickets, and lodging. All for under $1k. Compared to what I paid at winter park last year, I’m satisfied.
Any suggestions on must eat places?

Only places I’ve had were E3 steakhouse, some little Asian joint off hwy 40 downtown and pizza at Storm peak brewery. All were solid. We mostly cook when we go up there.
ETA: We also eat at the base for lunch. All options I’ve had were solid. Again though, can’t remember the names. I am on epic, not Ikon. So i usually only go to steamboat once a year.

Love Steamboat as well and planning my early season trip the week before Xmas there before the crowds show up.
Will only be able to get in two trips this year due to kids sports. Going to CO for Spring Break just haven’t picked a spot yet. Ikon pass holder so will have to be one of those. Leaning towards Winter Park since it’s so kid friendly

Laundry and Creekside next door to Laundry are both real good. The same guy owns them both plus a few other places that my buddy who lives there says are good.

Do you have anything at all? What do you/don’t you have?

Did my first mushing of the season today, summiting the high point of the nearby glacier view district. 18-24” of fresh powdah.

Ok. I am sure I’ll miss some stuff but I’ll give you my best advice. You’ll literally need everything. Goggles, gloves, jacket, pants, neck gaiter, layers underneath, helmet, ski passes, rental ski equipment.
For the best price, buy your lift tickets in advance from ikonpass.com or the steamboat website. This should save you 20-40 bucks per day per person. There is a Christy Sports in steamboat. You can rent your skis, boots, poles, helmets and snowboards from there. Book this in advance as well. You’ll need to buy everything else before hand from my list. You can find some past season stuff on sale right now for a better deal.
If you haven’t skied before, I would take a lesson on day 1. Lessons are expensive at steamboat. But, the rest of your trip will be much more enjoyable having done one.
Also, you must go to the strawberry hot springs while in steamboat.

I would recommend to borrow as much clothes and gear as you can from friends. 1st trip, you won't know if the family will love it or not, and depending on the age of your kids they may outgrow whatever you buy for next year. And definitely lessons. Again depending on kid's age, I would stick them in lessons for the whole time. If none of you know what you are doing, you will end up disliking skiing by the end if you are all just falling down the mountain in a group.

We used zent.com for our ski clothes last year for the kids - worked so well that I will use them every year now.
