quote:Which ever Republican makes it to a runoff (IF there’s a runoff) should have the national party throwing money at their campaign unless the party thinks Edwards has it in the bag.
The financial situation of Abraham’s campaign will be a concern should he make it past this election.

As an elected official, who failed to do his job over 400x, what makes you think he'll do his job as governor?
Well Ralph hasn't screwed Louisiana by disobeying R. Reagan’s 11th commandment. What will Rispone’s legacy be if JBE wins in the primary? The Republicans (Rispone)need to focus on a better Louisiana and beating JBE.

No RISPONE supporters have said that they wouldn’t vote for Abraham if he made the runoff. The only people who have said that are butthurt North Louisiana bible thumping Abraham supporters.

But they’ve implied it!!!
Talk about projection the Democrats would be proud of.

So Rispone is only out 1 vote?

Rispone’s ad claims “Abraham lied about donating his congressional salary to St. Jude and veteran groups.” FACT: Abraham donated his congressional salary to St. Jude and veteran groups both years of his first term in office. He lived off of his income from his medical practice.
quote:
The House ethics committee learned about it and told him he was not allowed to draw a salary from his medical practice. So, beginning with his second term he lived off of his congressional salary and directed his medical practice to donate his share of its profits to St. Jude and veteran groups. He continues to do that. Rispone twisted the facts. He lied.
Fact: Abraham did not donate all of his congressional salary to St. Jude
quote:
Rispone’s ad said Dr. Abraham voted against Trump’s border wall. Fact: There have been numerous votes on the wall and Abraham has voted in favor the wall every time except ONCE because he believed the amount of funding for the wall in that bill was too little. He wanted MORE funding than that bill contained. Some other conservative Republicans also voted against that bill. Rispone twisted the facts. He lied.
Fact: Abraham voted against Trump’s border wall
quote:
Rispone’s ad said Dr. Abraham voted with Nancy Pelosi hundreds of times. FACT: The vast majority of votes in the House are routine votes that are unanimous. Votes for recognizing a sports team winning a championship or who to name a new post office or other federal building after. Or even votes to adjourn the House. Sure, Dr. Abraham voted the same as Nancy Pelosi did on those votes, along with every other representative. On the “important” policy or funding votes, Dr. Abraham voted against the Dems. Every conservative warchdog group (NRA, Family Forum, erc.) has consistently rated Abraham as one of the most reliable votes. Rispone twisted the facts. He lied.
Fact: Abraham voted with Pelosi
quote:
Rispone’s ad said Dr. Abraham didn’t do his job because he missed so many votes. FACT: Dr. Abraham rarely missed any vote until he started campaigning for governor. Since then he has missed many of the routine votes but still flies back to Washington every time there is a critical close vote where his vote is needed. Rispne twisted the facts. He lied.
Fact: Abraham missed almost 50% of the votes this year. He missed 50% of his job.
See how facts work? I posted what the fact was. You posted Abraham’s twist for every time he’s been called out
quote:
To me not telling the whole truth is a lie. Rispone didn’t tell the whole truth. He lied.
The whole truth is Abraham’s twist or spin on everything. “Sure I missed half my votes in 2018-2019, but I supposedly made it back for the important ones! Ignore the fact that I missed more votes than any other representative in the US. I was running for governor!”
In the real world, Eddie Rispone is running on clear facts. Ralph Abraham is running on spinning the facts to make himself come out looking decent

Because one is a politician and one is not. The thought of Abraham as Governor does absolutely nothing to excite me, he does not come across well and in my opinion is just a overall lackluster candidate, but if he makes the runoff I will 100% vote for him because it is important to do so. I would hope that Abraham supporters would do the same thing if the role is reversed.

Abraham supporters frequently throw out racial slurs, it’s disturbing.

Easy to see which campaign you are working in. I personally heard Doc suggest, more than once, to Eddie in public forums, that the enemy was not within, it was the charlatan sitting in the Governor’s office. Rispone also reneged on his pledge from back in the Spring by both not to repeat the errors made by the “Republicans” that brought us JBE in the first place. It may be shifting votes from Doc to him, but there’s serious damage being done to runoff chances for both. Terrible, desperate Hail Mary by someone in third place. His ads look like they were produced by GumboPac. Shame on Eddie.

You mean like Dardenne/Angelle vs Vitter? Those so-called Republicans did all JBE’s work for him. Critically injure Vitter in the primary while he runs his bogus West Point Honor Code ads and conceals what a liberal tax and spend career politician he is. And here we go again...

Abraham is the guy who wanted Donald Trump to step down. Frick Abraham.

Ralphie wishes he had the numbers of Vitter

It’s too late to remove Abraham’s name from the ballot so any votes cast for him would not be counted. So Edwards would only need 50% + 1 vote of the valid votes counted. He wins re-election in the primary.
Kind of the same problem with sending a letter with early voting almost over? Abraham threw his Hail Mary after the whistle blew.
Posted on 10/5/19 at 9:04 am to RougeDawg
No, it's not anything like that. Your "he should drop out" idea is stupidity on display. That would automatically get Jon Bel Edwards re-elected.
Posted on 10/5/19 at 9:44 am to LSURussian
In that case Ralphie should formally endorse RISPONE and encourage all of his supporters to vote in his favor.

He did make that point clear. Unfortunately, he must own it now. It was a typical politician’s statement to garner popular support. It backfired on him.
As mentioned by Rispone, if DJT had stepped down, our great country would be WAY different today.

Any politician that attacks Trump will not get my vote. If I am put in the unfortunate situation of having to vote between JBE and Abraham, I will hold my nose and vote for Abraham. But that will not happen
