This season's flu shot for the US, UK and Canada is likely to be a 'mismatch'

We've been warned about this by our own doctor, too!
This year's flu vaccine may not be effective, a top expert warns.
Dr Danuta Skowronski, an influenza expert from the University of British Columbia told Stat News that the this year's flu shot for the Northern Hemisphere - including the US, UK and Canada - is likely to be a 'mismatch.'
Already, one child has died of the flu in the US - an alarming bellwether that the US may be in for a particularly bad season.
After getting the flu in March, I now understand why and how so many people died in the flu pandemic. It's plain awful!

Kids die of flu every month, every year. So why is it a metric of it being a bad year now?

2 of the 4 strains covered by this year's version are ok. I had a strain A in March and it was not included in last year's shot. We get the shot every year. Both dh and I got the flu, he in Feb and me in March. For both of us it was absolutely awful. Of course we now wonder what to do and I can honestly say that we're stumped.

im an alcoholic. i wake up every morning with the flu. i dont need a shot, i just need some blue powerade, an antacid tablet and a couple excedrin.

Water is wet...same thing every year, there are multiple strains of the flu every year and the flu shot every year doesn’t cover them all.

Last time I got the flu was 12 years ago. That was the last year I got a flu shot.
I never get sick. Im convinced my blood is so toxic from alcohol and party favors that viruses cannot survive in it

Even with a mismatch, the vaccine preps antibodies which outgunned can still put up a fight.

Last time I got the flu I felt like I was gonna die. Lasted 10 days of progressively worse hell.

well, in case you are low on mercury and all the other heavy metals and dna included free of charge in the vaccination. surely, that's why you'd get it.
also, if you are low on formaldehyde, aluminum salts, thimerosal, etc. etc.
