JJ sucks arse too. He doesn’t get a pass for this penguin shite. He’s now made two iconic franchises worse.

His Star Trek is FAR superior. Granted, his ensemble cast is also far superior but I’m tired of this narrative.

I love Star Trek, particularly TNG but it isn’t like most Trek movies before JJ weren’t steaming pieces of shite only salvaged by the cast.

Insurrection was mediocre. Nemesis was a colossal waste that resorted to a Picard clone as the villain and then killed of Data. Only First Contact stands as an awesome Trek movie for the TNG era. Generations, a TV movie was better than most.

Of Shattner films, the original movie was meh, Final Frontier is shite. You’d think Voyage Home is shite if it came out today.

Come on, son.

I'd watch that. Tbh, that interests me way more than a Han Solo or Boba Fett film.

We all know yoda was reborn after ROTJ. The mandalorian has baby yoda the storyline is after ROTJ. I’m going to watch this movie because I’m a glutton for stars wars punishment plus the kids all want to see it and they’re not as invested in episodes 4-6 like I was a kid.

I mean, i know Star Wars started the whole, "let's take a very successful film and completely destroy it with poor story writing, character development, and plot??? Who needs a plot?" BUT.... ever since game of thrones fricked up their last season in great star wars-esque fashion, it seems that everyone feels they are free to completely frick up every once successful franchise.

Watched it this morning without reading any reviews or spoilers and I can honestly say that these reviews are spot on.

The more I think about what I just saw the more questions I have about the nonsense I just witnessed.

It wasn't completely unwatchable, but I'll be damned if I force myself to sit through that again. Anyone that says they truly loved it are watching it with blinders on without the ability to ask questions.

Rant over.

The skywalkers need to get the wall, IMO. They do nothing but wreck havoc on the universe. Bad seeds the lot of them

I enjoyed it, but I'm a big Trek space battle kid from way back.

then killed of Data
They were always going to have to kill Data. Brent Spiner wasn't going to stay the same age forever.

Insurrection was stupid, though. I'll give you that one.

The action was fine in Nemesis given the piss poor budget it had... it’s just the plot was shite and looking back, Tom Hardy was wasted.

They kill off Data but keep his copy and from the Picard trailer, Data seems pretty much back anyway. So. Weird.

I think they felt like B4 was a good excuse to have an aged Data, one that looks a bit off.

Yoda isn’t the only one of his species.

There was a female one on the Jedi council as well.

Name was Yaddle.

I’m pretty sure it is still canon too.

Got to the movies 25 before showtime. Maybe 20 people. I’m shocked. Every opening night I’ve been to had a line outside an hour before. Start Wars is dead.

Yea she is. Though, it still brings to question, which Jedi Master revoked their Jedi oath and had a kid.

Not Ep IX related, but here are some cut scenes from Star Wars (Ep 4).
LINK

I remember that the Toshi Station scene was in the early novelization I read, with Biggs telling Luke he was going to jump ship and join the Rebellion. I think I remember the girl's name was Cammie, and she called Luke Wormy
That scene should have been restored when Lucas did the "specialized version", as should the alternate Luke-Biggs reunion (where Red Leader tells Luke he met his father once, and if he was half the pilot his dad was then he'd be ok).
I guess they couldn't do that, because Anakin wasn't supposed to have kids...

Who says the parent was a Jedi?

Also, Yaddle died during the Clone Wars.

There is almost zero information about Yoda’s species.

Eh, it’s kind of always been at least lightly portrayed that Yoda was most likely the last of his species.

Yes, they can easily just say that there are more of his species, but up until now, it was thought he was the last, so the assumption would be be is the father.

I disagree.

His species is just a mystery.

I don’t see it. I don’t think they are linked at all and it would be a poor direction choice to go that route, IMO.
