Paul Mainieri had a worse record in his first three years than Smoke had in his first three years.

I suppose you also agree Smoke is better than Paul?

2018 MSU and UK were 1-2 in ppg, guess they had more talent than UGA and Bama as well. 2018 LSU ppg was 21.8 that includes a 7 OT game, with just regulation from that game it drops to 18.5 which would be 4th. MSU was also 1st in yards, of course they were 8-5 and we beat them 19-3 would you rather that?

2017 LSU was 4th in ppg behind Alabama, UGA and Auburn, MSU was 6th and 4th in ypg behind Bama, UGa and MSU. This was the year MSU beat the crap out of us a couple weeks before we lost to Troy. At the time we were told this was due to no depth on DL. That rationale/excuse apparently is only valid when the HC is being critized. Nationally LSU was 14th ppg 12th ypg that year.

2016 LSU was 2nd in ppg in the SEC (guess #1) 5th nationally and 3rd in ypg behind Fla and you know who. 10th nationally

So once since Aranda has been DC have UK and MSU had defenses ranked ahead of LSU, 2018. That was an historic year for Kentucky. MSU had 3 first round picks and went 8-5. LSU finished #6 in the AP

in ppg allowed our sec ranking has gone from...

2016-2nd
2017-4th
2018-7th
2019-8th

but there is no room for concern because we can excuse the stats for us in this gane bc we allowed an offensive td or in that game because of OT and on and on. Well the thing about that is if you want to adjust the stats to exclude offensive tds allowed for us it needs to be done for every team.

Every team deals with missing starters and injuries. We have played a third of the season...would you agree it will be the easiest 4 game stretch on our schedule? So why do you think this defense will be fixed with the strength of our schedule still to come? I hope it is but we have been trending down and it's naïve to think we will just start playing LSU defense with the turn of a switch.

Stay focused. Neither of those happened in the time period we’re talking about.

Clemson has been running a fast Tempo offense for the last 5 years. In 2018, Win a national championship,
2018 total stats below:

Offensive scoring over 15 games 44.9
Defense allowed only 15.1 points per game.

So don't come to the table with excuses about our new offense distorting the defense's ability to stop teams from scoring.

Jezzzz

We have to expect some defensive drop off this year considering how fast our offense scores. Combine that with losing a leader in Devin White, we're going to experience some growing pains on defense.

That said, I will gladly take Aranda over Chavis any day of the week. Chavis' defense ALWAYS fricked up in crunch time. Critical 3rd and 4th downs were almost always given up, and his defenses almost always gave up a score within 2 minutes when stopping the offense was critical.

I have confidence Aranda will improve the defense.

didn't say that anywhere, although, yes, LSU did go to Texas and walked out of Austin with a win. Only a handful of teams in USA who have a quality win comparable to LSU's.

This is our first year ever running a fast tempo offense. The defense will experience some growing pains and will need to adjust.

What does have to do with anything? The Clemson defense showed they are legit in blowing out Alabama & holding the best offense ever at Bama to 16 points. You can try to shite on them all you want to but they currently have the National Titles & number of high defensive draft picks over the years to legitimize their place as one of the top defenses in the country. Sorry the truth hurts.

weird, I didn't see any comparison of LSU and Clemson's strength in schedule in this nonsensical response.
