Rookie move. Should have asked what they were paying for the info first.

The problem is the vast majority of people have no understanding how a business operates. Cash flow always being the biggest challenge can sink a business in no time and it's not a nefarious reason for filing bk.

I think you just echoed why the shareholders are suing. They'll tell their stories in court.

Which company? I could probably guess it tomorrow. The calls will probably go away in a couple of months after the lead plaintiff deadline passes. Until then everyone’s jockeying to get the edge.

Exactly. I would’ve worked out a ‘consulting fee’.

So, it was true. You just used your college friend as an excuse to let him get away with fraud.

You're an awesome person

Your reading comprehension sucks.

Sweet little fact.

The guy wanting me to give dirt on my friend was hired to oversee the purchase of a company by my friend and his brother. Him/local bank/selling company hid all equipment leases and listed them as assets. As soon as the sale was final the bank demanded payment in full.

Lots of folks went to jail(my friend not being one) and my friend lost his company and made a lot of enemies in the process.

A number of lawyers will try anything to get information. A top lawyer from Houston went through a friends kid to try and pressure him for info.

It didn’t work and my friend told the lawyer to get lost. The lawyer moved on and wont change his methods.

The reality is most anyone here who felt they had been defrauded would want their attorney to take any legal steps to expose the fraud and recover any monies possible. Most legal investigators are used to hitting 99 roadblocks before they get any useful information.

Not everything that looks like fraud is fraud but sometimes it is worth poking around to see what stinks.

Did your company leadership likely breach duties owed to stockholders?

If so, how would you feel as a stockholder?

(Years ago, as a hard working young man with a family to support, I invested heavily, in relation to my means,in Worldcom. Lost it all due to management fraud and graft. I can tell you how it feels)

I hope your action doesn’t cause harm to anyone.

Sounds to me like you blew your chance to get a nice all expense paid trip to California just to tell the truth about your shitty old company. No wonder they went bankrupt if you're the kinda brains they had on board.
