This was a ratings bonanza for ABC and maximum exposure for the Tigers, and clearly the most watched game of the 2019 CF season by far. Great advertising for the program.

I agree....great game for tv but wished we had scored a touchdown to start the second half...

Just look at the fallout. How many national interviews/stories came out of that game? We are the talk of college football this week mostly because sports media saw us play, and play well, in primetime against a quality opponent. We were the game of the day and there was a lot of hype leading up to it. Big dividends.

And in a State we recruit heavy in to steal players away from ATM & UT
Win win win win. State exposure, national exposure, won the game, and was entertaining to watch....

Holy shite if we both hold server CBS May be forced to flex again.

Next most was A&M-Clemson at 6.46M.
Wow. That is quite a drop. I would assume that if aTm had kept it interesting, ratings would have been higher.

What game? They can't flex LSU vs Bama if that's what you mean. They could barter with ESPN to possibly let them have it and put it on at night.

October 31, 1959......LSU No. 1 - Ole Miss # 3. Billy Cannon's 89 yard Halloween run for a TD. Then Cannon comes back and delivers the key tackle to deny Ole Miss the win. I was listening to the game on radio and we went ballistic when Cannon made the stop. IMO that will always be the greatest LSU game EVER.
Having said that, this Texas-LSU brawl came close to matching that game in intensity and drama.

George; I agree with you that 3-17 or what another poster labeled as 3rd and Longhorn will go down in Tiger lore forever. Being in DKR the sound was deafening prior to the play, but was like you turned off the rock concert speakers all at once when Jefferson bolted down the sideline except for the 12k Tiger fans that then made some noise.

Wow, that’s a LOT of viewers for a Sept non conference game
Great exposure for both programs

I loathe A&M, but honestly those are really good ratings for an afternoon game. Especially when you consider the plethora of other games in the same time slot.

Agreed - that's very high for non-primetime.
I wish we had a couple of match ups like A&M v Clemson & LSU/UT every Saturday.

I worship college football, but the scheduling of 3 or 4 cupcake mismatches that every school does and like our game vs NW this weekend is the type of shite that needs to be outlawed. Power 5 schools need to play 11 Power 5 schools, and have one cupcake game. The SEC needs to have 9’games in conference. It cost too much money, time and energy for fans to be screwed over with Mia-matches with 50 point betting spreads. This will also improve attendance and TV ratings.

CBS sold their soul and then some to ESPN to get 7pm slot in 2011 to flex their game that week to primetime.

Going to nine games doesn’t help some conferences because it limits the out of conference games that help show relative strengths. ( NW state doesn’t either). I would keep it at 8 but get rid of FCS games and play at least two power five out of conference games. Split the two home and homes add one mid major (la tech Fresno state....) and one sun belt Ohio valley type.
That gives you five good games one so so and a warm up/ lay up. It would greatly increase the number of intersectional games on any given weekend.

Sorry, I disagree with you on this. You do realize this is the SEC one of the most competitive conference in the nation....right?
