he grabs Williams from behind, Williams is still trying to advance the ball. What else was he supposed to do to a ball carrier trying to advance and he has him from behind?

Tackle him, not body slam him.

I don’t think you know what ticky tack means...

He had him from behind, around the waist. Williams was trying to advance. Looked like he pulled him backwards the best he could.

It deserved a flag, but people on here were wanting him ejected, which was BS

This isn’t the XFL man. You can’t body slam people in the NFL.

Looked to me like he stopped him from any further forward progress the best he could with the hold he had in him

A flag for purposely dropping a dude on his head is "ticky tack"?

FIXED.

That used to be called a tackle, now it is a penalty. It is what it is.

I would be pissed if that was called on the Saints or LSU, and I think it was a weak flag

It all depends on when the whistle was blown, but either way, once a player is lifted off the ground, the play is dead because the runners forward progress was stopped. Therefore, the slam, which is always a penalty, is a unnecessary roughness foul. Plus you can just as easy bring a player to the ground without back arching them over the top of your head. Silly foul that was completely unnecessary.

This, but in years past, it would have been no foul.

So we got the benefit of the doubt on one? Cool, what about the 15 seconds at the end of the First Half? The BS call on the missed XP?

Go watch a real suplex/body slam. The weight of the lifters body is purposely shifted to come down onto the other body as it's going to the ground. Hopkins didnt do that.

Definite penalty, but I miss the old NFL.

Look if you really expect that maneuver to take place on an NFL field and there to be no flag, you're going to be sorely disappointed. Then again, I would have said the same thing about blatantly laying out a receiver while the ball is in the air...

How long are we talking because within the last couple of years, the exact same foul was called against one of our players. I honestly can't remember who though.

I am a Saints fan. I saw a man with his hands around another players waist, one hand actually around his arm trying to strip the football and the guy just so happened to fly in the air while doing so. I didn't like the flag and the sideline acting like Hopkins was trying to injure Williams.
