Look at the sheriff thing this way.
Status quo and no SG, nothing changes as far as police protection in SG.
If SG becomes a city then we’d still have sheriff coverage and when we supplement the sheriff we should expect even better service.
I’m fine with my current coverage from the sheriff and I’m looking forward to better coverage when SG is formed. I can’t see how coverage would decrease.

Hard to shite on the pot when they keep moving it and then hiding it from the people that need to shite. Most of St. George is ready they just aren't allowed to use the toilet.

Agreed.
My point is that this is the only tenuous argument BR has is the sheriff coverage and paying for it because most other arguments of theirs are stillborn due to how things were already structured for the past 30+ years.

You do realize that the opposition has done everything they could to delay the vote and when we vote in favor of our city then they will likely sue to stop us?
Tell the mayor and her allies to do their jobs and quit using their time to stop us from exercising our constitutional right.

My point is it’s s nothing burger. No one is going to lose sheriff protection.

Correct. And it is still the closest thing to an argument BR has.
That’s how bad their case against St George is.

Had to Google M.E.Cormier. Found the following in a BR Business Report column re the first STG campaign:
BR Business Report
"I heard a personal story from a businessman who had signed the petition, along with his wife. He lived in a neighborhood that has two signs at the entrance saying “No solicitation.” He was visited twice by solicitors he presumes were with Better Together asking him and his wife if they wanted to remove their signatures. He told the woman the first time, “No.” And she left.
"But a male solicitor came back a second time (obviously having info from Better Together). This time, only his wife was home, with their new baby. When asked about removal, she also told him, “No.” The solicitor then screamed, “You must be one of the devils who signed the petition.”
She closed and locked the door. He proceeded to bang on the door and ring the doorbell. The woman was scared, and she went and hid in the baby’s room, where the baby was crying, having been awakened by the noise. Is this the way to bring Baton Rouge “together”?
"Attempts were made by the husband to reach someone with Better Together, but they had no phone or address on their website. (He had to email another group, EducateBR, who said they were not associated with the petition but would forward his information to Better Together.) No one ever responded to him from Better Together.
"The story was relayed to the St. George proponents, who pointed out the bizarre and threatening behavior to The Advocate.
"In June The Advocate ran an article that referred to this incident noted by the husband that was posted online.
"What was the response from Better Together leader M.E. Cormier? The Advocate wrote, “Cormier said the letter, which was sent to them as well, came from a St. George proponent. But she said their notes show that canvassers weren’t in the neighborhood the day of the alleged incident.” Simple, just deny it happened and dismiss the complaint (and never bother to call and discuss). Fact is, the man’s email never specified a date, so how could she have checked? When questioned by The Advocate, she simply lied.
"This businessman, who is a CPA and MBA, was upset and angry when he told me the story. Such actions make it hard to get folks to come “together” in the aftermath."

Some Millionaire, Lipsey??? is going hard at the St.George group, paid for a flier to go to houses that made all kinds of lies, hell, they couldn't even get the population of the city they used as an example on the damn thing right.
The group funding the anti st.george stuff is @PutLouisiana1st
Supposedly the guy i mentioned, dumps a shite load of cash into it, to go after st.george and other stuff he doesn't like.

The mailer was funded by Lipsey and is patently false.
Hell they even had an aide to the New Orleans mayor calling for the status quo. Called a friend of mine.
The elites are shaking in their boots and have been for several years.

This whole situation reminds me of the movie Total Recall where Mars dictator Vilos Cohaagen is talking about how he has the best job in the world but that his worst fear is that the rebels win, putting him out of a job, and his own underlings’ frickups are making it happen.
Every time the St George people do something, the opponents do an overbearing act which they think will result in victory. And it some cases it is a short term victory, but it ends up galvanizing support against them and will end up making St George win in the long term.

Because of the OT i followed the ST.George facebook page, to see how it would end up.
If you want to see corruption at it's finest, especially Liberal corruption, this would be a perfect case to document. They have done nothing but try and stifle the peoples voices, while also trying to create their own bills and laws to stop them.
Want to see public corruption, follow this St.George dealio. From BR and the useless politicians to the state building and their useless politicians. Especially those, when faced with facts, go on little tantrums, and play the race card.
When St.George finally wins, it will be a sweet victory for those who still believe in power of the people.

When it passes this Lipsey Douche Canoe will be throwing money at some political hack to run for mayor.

I don't live in St George but I'm sympathetic to their cause. They've tried the status quo for 30 years and it's mostly gotten worse rather than better.

The opponents have tried every tactic in the book to stop it and that is with 2 prior instances of this happening in Zachary and Central. They have tried to change the rules during the game. They have attempted to throw racism in the mix (even though plenty of minorities live in the proposed St. George territory), stalling the election, trying to tamper with the signatures, etc. etc. etc. The only thing they have not done is lay a legitimate claim as to why St. George should not be allowed to happen. We all know it is tax money that they want but they are going to pull every trick they can out of thin air to attempt to cause this to fail. It won't stop when it passes either. It is the closest you will ever see to what will happen when and if liberal politics ever take full control over our country.

A more important topic that the media will not cover is the mailer I received yesterday. It states that STG officials never spoke to the Sheriff about how much it will cost for police protection.
This was sent out by Richard Lipsey through his group Put Louisiana First. A St. George supporter (great guy too. He posts here) refutes, on the PLF Fb page, every major point that the pamphlets covers. It's pure fear mongering on Lipsey's part. Pretty lame attempt to keep his political influence intact.
