He’s not bad that’s for sure

I don't think Texas will win enough for him to be a serious Heisman contender in the end, but yeah, he's pretty damn good.

Lets put the question in another sense, how good of a QB will he be against our secondary?

That remains to be seen, but he's a serviceable passer.
I'd be more concerned about his running ability actually. He's tough.

It's a long season.. That's probably 2 losses right there though..
They drop games they shouldn't every season. No?

I've seen him play just about every game he's played.
I'll be honest with you, id rather have him then burrow. There very similar players though And love burrow but Elhinger is more consistent with his accuracy, especially the deep ball. Elhinger Is a little better runner too.
He's good man, so is burrow though, it's actually probably a coin flip on who's better, especially with the expanded offense this year.

They play Iowa State on the road, who could be really good. Like good enough to make the Big XII CG.
They also play TCU on the road, who under Patterson, has traditionally rebounded big from down years.
Considering the starters lost from last season, I wouldn't assume Texas is a definite 10-win team.

Ehlinger is damn good. LSU has had a marked history of making much better QBs look bad, but this guy can/will give us fits if we don't hit him hard, early and often. If we make him uncomfortable in his own house and take him off his game, that's the optimal scenario.

I made two films on burrow that consisted of his every pass from 2018 season and I actually came away impressed with his deep ball accuracy. Especially on 9 routes down the sidelines.
I’d say Burrow can hang with a lot of them in that category.

He got himself a preseason bump because of what he did against Oklahoma and Georgia. I have a lot of questions about Texas team as a whole, but Ehlinger is the real deal.

He’s terrible. Heisman committee just likes the Longhorns logo.

I agree that they are pretty similar, and that Sam is a better runner. But I disagree on the deep ball. That is the weakest part of Sam's game. I think Joe is a slightly better passer.
Sam has been much better in the red zone, however. That is something we all need to see Joe improve on.

He's a pretty good college QB who plays for a historically successful program. That's why.
That has ZERO bearing in a game to be played a week and a half from now.
Relax.

Use the game plan we did vs Lamar Jackson and we roll.

Agreed.. the biggest argument that was pro Shane Buechele last year was that his deep ball was way better than sams and was a better pure passer.
Ehlinger definitely earned the job though

Well he accounted for 3800 yards and 41 tds last year, with only 5ints and 65% comp
That's decent I guess
