I believe he is good. But, those stats are a bit misleading. He was playing against B12 defenses.

He made a few very accurate throws. But, MOST of his long completions were to receivers that had 2 steps on the defenders. Again, he is pretty good. But, he is not going to be nearly the best qb LSU plays against.

Compared to who? Especially to show up on Heisman watch??? Really?
The rest of the country. Kid scored 40 TDs last year and had big games against OU and UGA. It seems like your offended by this kid being good

Ehlinger from Texas
Lets put the question in another sense, how good of a QB will he be against our secondary?

Texas will score points against this LSU defense. Playing football games on paper match up's is totally useless, Texas has a very good offense and their defense is untested and no way of knowing how good they will be.

This may very well be a football game and tougher than you think.

The Heisman doesn’t give a frick about big 12 defenses. The last two have come from the big 12

Well he accounted for 3800 yards and 41 tds last year, with only 5ints and 65% comp That's decent I guess

People make the lazy Tebow comparison, but he's a better passer and not near the athlete or runner. He's more similar in style to Dak Prescott than anyone.

I have a lot of questions about Texas team as a whole, but Ehlinger is the real deal.

This is how I feel. But that doesn’t mean I don’t think our defense can shut his arse down.

He's pretty talented but he's a huge competitor. He's a Tebow lite.

He is a right handed Tim Tebow and an out right bull. He is good.

You can ink in two losses to Oklahoma. There’s no way on Earth he beats that Hurts kid. He’s the best QB the world has ever seen. Did you know he threw a bunch of touchdowns to Calvin Ridley, AND he can run around during holding penalties which aren’t called?

I agree with you, hopefully the offense for LSU is as advertised and they keep the foot on the accelerator. I think then we'll find out just how good Burrow is. Ehlinger has a toughness about him, if he's improved his passing (especially the deep ball), then he will be a weapon for Texas.

He lost his best receiver and his top 2 runnings aren’t healthy. His OL is average

Ingram will be back by the time we play. The freshman Whittington will be #2 and he’s healthy.

They play Iowa State on the road, who could be really good. Like good enough to make the Big XII CG.

Correct. Ingram and Whittington are good to go this week. The next three are all out, as are 2/3 walkons, so true freshman QB Roschon Johnson got moved to RB and is running third string right now.

I wasn’t addressing the Heisman issue as much as the LSU opponent issue.

because he's really good.

Why does this board denigrate our opponents so much? After the Texas game, I'll be the biggest Ehlinger and UT fan in the world.

He's good. They're good. Don't we want that? It helps our SOS and our perception around the country if our opponents are very good. I want to beat Texas -- and then have them go 11-1.
