Explain to me why this guy is showing up on Heisman watch...... really? Watching College Football Live. Is he that good????

Better numbers than Tebow, and that seems to be ESPN's measuring stick for a Heisman QB

I don't get the hype around him either. He's a big, physical, QB. I didn't see much from him otherwise that made him stand out above the rest. I watched every single UT game last season, my wife is a UT grad. I saw him make some poor decisions, I saw accuracy issues. He was lucky because he had 2 stud receivers in Humphrey and Johnson that made him look good when he just slung the ball up. Kinda like Evans did with Manziel. They return Johnson who is going to get his yards, but he's going to be covered by the best DB in the nation too.
The kid is good, but I don't see anything great about him. At least not Heisman great.

But he's really good at keeping drives going. 3rd and short, you know he's going to bring it. Inside the 10, he's going to be running.

He's not Tebow though. We'll stop him enough.

Take a look at the stats. Not a bad year.

These watch list are the dumbest things ever, shouldn't they be watching everyone at this point in the year. Lasts years Heisman winner wasn't on any list and hadn't even started the year before.

I believe Reggie Bush in 2005 was the last very pre season high ranked Heisman winner, with almost all being anywhere close to a favorite, coming from almost out of nowhere

He's a big, impressively strong and tough QB...Easily the best QB Texas has had in almost a decade. He has a high football IQ...His drawbacks are sometimes he holds onto the football too long and sometimes his accuracy is off. He has about 2 or 3 passes a game that are way off...Sometimes, as a Texas fan, his misfires drive you crazy. He missed a receiver on a crossing route in the LA Tech game that was coming wide open and would have took it to the house easily, but Sam threw the ball behind him...If not for missing passes like that, he would probably be one of the top 3 or 4 QB's in college football. I would put him at 5 or 6 right now...I wouldn't say he is better at intermediate, short, or long passes. He's pretty equally good at all.
