quote:

The few remaining tenants that occupy space in the largely vacant Cortana Mall have been given notice by the mall’s owners that they have to be out in the next two weeks, if not sooner.

Tenants say they have not officially been told whether Cortana’s Nevada-based owner, Moonbeam Capital Investment, is planning to shutter the mall or if they’ve finally found a buyer for the property.

It's going to be the new parish prison.

Or an old folks home.

The most logical suggestion. We can certainly use one.

I think you mean the new parish "correctional facility".

I would set up a hobo/bum/homeless shelter out of there and charge LA $5M a month...
Then default on all my payments to investors...

If you are of a certain age, this is sad. BR was not always a shitehole, believe it or not. Florida Blvd was nice, there was no Bluebonnet, Chi-Chi's was slammed and the chimp at Fun Fair Park was plotting how to derail the Wild Mouse with nothing more than a cigarette lighter and some arm strength.

Moonbeam Capital also owns the POS Gwinnett Place Mall in Duluth, GA that was the filming location for Stranger Things' Starcourt.

We got a hockey team.

It really is a clear line of demarcation but conveniently nobody wants to talk about it.

As I get a little further into middle age and when I encounter people who are younger than 25, I have a harder time convincing people of this.

How nobody ever died riding the Wild Mouse is one of life's great mysteries.

I loved riding that green roller coaster (called the Galaxy I think?) but the Wild Mouse scared the frick out of me.

Maybe we could get some movies or shows filmed there
