As opposed to Teddy.

He looks like a more competent QB than Teddy, using the 2018 regular season and 2019 preseason as a sample size.

If that makes me an unintelligent football fan, so be it.

He probably is honestly at this point, but as we've discussed in other threads you still need a teddy to let taysom get on the field. Too much risk

We really haven't seen hardly any of Taysom with a starting O Line, Alvin Kamara, Michael Thomas and Jared Cook.

When Payton agrees and makes Hill the #2 QB you can crow first.

That's fine. But would you rather have Taysom on the field used the way he was used last year? Because you can't have both. Payton isn't going to risk his primary backup QB like that. Hence the need for Teddy Bridgewater.

I think you could give some defenses fits if Hill is needed to win an important game.
I don't think Bridgewater would be capable of winning a playoff game.

Overall I think Bridgewater is the better QB, but if I think Hill has a higher ceiling.

Most fans would. Personally, I'm looking forward to the 2019 Taysom Hill packages. With his development as a passer, it gives Payton even options to expand the package of plays he came up with in 2018. We caught a glimpse of that potential in the playoff game against the Eagles on the TD pass to Kamara that was called back.

Hill TD pass to Kamara negated by penalty

Yep... I don't want to lose what Taysom brings to the offense as a secret weapon

His passing has gotten better but I still have yet to see him go through a full progression regularly. It's usually read 1 read 2 then run. While I've seen Bridgewater go to a third/fourth read even a checkdown multiple times. There were a couple of plays last game from Taysom where RB was open in the flat and he chose to run it instead for a shorter gain.

I just don't think the one/two run philosophy will work against a starting D-line as opposed to 3rd and 4th stringers he can burn the corner on. Starting D ends in this league run 4.6 and 4.5s within a five yard span that's fast enough to yank him down when he takes off.

All that said I do like his upside potential more than Bridgewater's at this point

There are more threads about Drew's backup than Drew himself.

The stats don’t really back up this statement. Teddy had 1 into this preseason and that was a ball that hit the receiver in the hands. Their stats are about the same in preseason and Hill only had 7 passes last year and completed 4 for 42.9% . Teddy had 23 passes and completed 14 for 60.9%. This preseason, Teddy has faced the 1st/2nd string Ds ffor the most part. Taysom has faced 3rd/practice squad Ds for the most part.

Nah, just makes you a passionate fan who gets pumped up by a guy like Taysom Hill, we all do.

In the words of Steve Young, "He needs reps"
How does that happen? He better get the start vs. Miami

We are done with either at qb... that's why I was against giving up a pick and alot of money for teddy to dance in the locker room. Complete waste of money and a pick that could have been spent on someone that could contribute.

I was hoping to see a whole game of Bridgewater. We already know what's up with the Swiss Army knife, no need to risk injury.

frick it. Let Teddy play in Taysom's place until he gets his peanut head knocked up in the 3rd row . Which is where he deserves to be. He gets worse every pre-season game. If something happens to Drew, we won't win 4 games w/ Teddy behind center. And that's if he plays the whole season.
