After testing him for impairment, the trooper proceeded to arrest Perkins for a DWI. However, Perkins resisted arrest and was tased before he was taken into custody, Scrantz said. Perkins later submitted a breath alcohol sample and registered over twice the legal limit.

Every ticket that POS wrote for speeding in the last year should be refunded back to the people with a 10% interest. #officialmafiaoflouisiana #louisianarevenuepatrol

You’ve got to give credit to the trooper arresting him and not just letting him go.

How stupid are you?
They got busted. He got busted. No bias, no special treatment.
The people win.

What an idiot. An idiot for drinking & driving & and an idiot for saying he had 2 beers. You never say you have been drinking or only a couple of beers.

They busted him for dwi, not for lying under oath or some other reason to think he lied about those tickets.

If he can’t judge what is BAC is going to be and ends up legally driving drunk, I don’t trust him both technically and morally to properly calibrate his radar to pull people over. He’s a State Trooper not a rookie Bawcomville cop.

He works at headquarters and is not on the road.

Wow in 2017 this same officer was allowed to walk on multiple felonies involving theft of evidence, felony theft, malfeasance in office etc. that’s frickin* incredible......

This is not the first time Perkins has been placed on leave for improper conduct in recent years. In 2017, he was suspended for two weeks and docked an additional 80 hours' pay after investigators ruled he removed several pieces of evidence from a state vault and gave some of the property to a retired State Police lieutenant. Items included a $400 ice chest and fishing equipment that had been recovered during a 2015 theft investigation in Grand Isle and had been in storage for several months at State Police headquarters when Perkins loaded them into his pickup.

He's in bureau of investigations and not a patrol Trooper.

A radar is used to stop people for speeding, an intoxilyzer is used for a breath alcohol test, and those are maintained and calibrated by a separate division within State Police.

Yep.
