The more interesting angle is how was he allowed to remain a trooper after stealing evidence? That’s malfeasance in office, felony theft, etc.

Unfortunately the trooper who arrested him will probably receive backlash from his “brothers”. Stupid brother code but I have a lot of respect for the trooper who did arrest him

That was when Mike Edmonson was still superentendant, so it was kind of like the inmates were running the asylum back then.

i hope they give this guy the max punishment allowable. if you're in the business of enforcing the law you should be above reproach.

I believed he was allowed to keep his job because he was basically ordered to take items out of the evidence locker.

This is not the first time Perkins has been placed on leave for improper conduct in recent years. No he won’t. This dude is a POS and the inmates don’t run the asylum anymore like during Edmonson’s reign.

Items included a $400 ice chest and fishing equipment that had been recovered during a 2015 theft investigation in Grand Isle and had been in storage for several months at State Police headquarters when Perkins loaded them into his pickup.

According to records, Perkins insisted he was intending to donate the items, but never did.

There's clearly a pattern with him.

He has no business having a career in law enforcement and should be fired.

State troopers are trash. They get paid a pretty penny to do nothing but sit in their SUV’s and write speeding tickets.

When I found out that Edmonson was a corrupt piece of shite just like the rest of them, it was so goddamn disappointing. I really thought he was one of the best that Louisiana law enforcement had to offer and was a model for the rest of the country to follow.

ou’ve got to give credit to the trooper arresting him and not just letting him go.

No doubt. The arresting officer earned just as much integrity for the State Police as the driver lost.

I mean that as a compliment. Upon re-reading, that may have been expressed poorly.

No mugshot like Casey Rayborn Hicks? And props to LSP for arresting one of their own. Would have been easy to just let it go, nobody would have ever known.
