KG wasn't a #1 overall pick, but he had a ton of hype because he was the first (or one of the first) to skip college under the new rules and was drafted very high.

I’m not a Lebron fan but It is honestly insane that he lived up to and probably exceeded his hype
Agreed. I thought he would be good, but would have a longer adjustment going from high school where he was already a grown man playing against boys, to the NBA playing against other grown men.

He is really good, but he certainly hasn't lived up to the hype. He was on the cover of SI at 16 being touted as a prodigy and baseball's "Chosen One."

Pick your starting 3 OF, does Harper even make the cut at this point?

Acuna
Bellinger
Betts
Judge
Harper
Trout
Yelich

Peyton Manning
Troy Aikman
Terry Bradshaw

All three were the #1 overall pick in the draft, and they all won multiple Super Bowls.

Lebron and tiger are the answers to this thread

If only baseball would have hyped Trout instead of Harper

Bregman didn't go #1 either but he was regarded by many to be the most pro-ready college player since Strasburg.

Yeh Bregs is a really bad answer

If Strasburg was as good as Kershaw or if Harper was as good as Trout baseball could have an answer in this thread

# 1 all Time is either Peyton Manning or LeBron James.

We were told they were going to be one of the all-time greats way before they turned pro, and they were.

Lew Alcindor/Kareem and Shaq too.
