Tiger Deauxnuts and Barbecue closed in May, and Mj’s Cafe will move into the Government Street location.
So from Donuts and BBQ to a vegan restaurant. Talk about a 180. I wonder how they got the BBQ smell out.

I totally forgot about Lava Cantina
And heard about Sammy's in Zachary...Sammy's as a whole was in a pretty bad spot until crawfish season. From what I understand they've really cheaped out on their providers recently and customers have noticed. Didn't they lose their liquor license for a week or so too?
Also while it may not be a big impact to many others, Smashburger closing on Corporate in favor of a Lit Pizza is going to be awesome for me

The article left off City Pork at the Overpass too.

That spot where Marcello's is in is cursed, which is a damn shame because I actually really liked Marcello's (especially that bread you can order). Seems like nothing ever works in that spot.

Not saying the location isn't cursed but in my opinion, the Marcello's in BR was not on the same level as the one in Lafayette.

Piccadilly To Go on Lee Drive also closed in May
I think that set a record for closing time... who could've predicted that failing in that location??

Southdowns bar was the perfect fit for that location. It had character, unlike so many new places that try to look like they're a converted warehouse with faux industrial lighting.

They were strategically located across the street from a massive retirement home, guess the nursing home cooked better food than picc. I live right around there and tried it a couple times in the brief time it was open, and believe it or not, it was awful, worse than grade school cafeteria food.

i think the lobster roll place on acadian was the fastest closing place

I agree. It wasn't very good. They chose foods that dont lend themselves to sitting under heat lamps for long

They’re open with new owners

Wasn’t Mugshots supposed to open another location when they closed their Corporate Dr. location down?
