Louisiana people complaining when a hurricane season isn't producing enough storms
Don’t generalize.
Not everyone in Louisiana complaining because there are no storms.
I don’t know of anyone that ever wants a storm.

The next two weeks look pretty calm with an overall unfavorable background.
Then comes the third week of August and Africa starts churning them out.

You act like the lack of tropical systems over the next week indicates that the entire season will have little activity. Maybe it will be a “boring” season, but this doesn’t do anything to indicate that.
You’ve proven that you don’t actually know anything about tropical weather, though, even though you act like you do in every tropical system thread.

2005 will be a season I hope we never see again... not just b/c of Katrina either
there were 15 hurricanes... an absolutely astounding number
7 MAJOR hurricanes (Cat 3 or >)
4 hurricanes hit Cat 5 status at some point (Emily, Katrina, Rita, & Wilma)
27 total named storms (including a subtropical storm that was confirmed postseason and never given a name... but it would've been "Tammy" had it been confirmed during the season)... the NHC had to go into the Greek alphabet to name 6 storms... there were 31 storms that reached at least depression status
Tropical Storm Arlene formed on June 8, 2005
Tropical Storm Zeta lost tropical characteristics on January 6, 2006 (after forming on December 30, 2005)
never EVER want to see a season like 2005 again

To late Louisiana already called up its National Guard and currently having them wait 8 days till this all blows over. They sent in application for Federal Funding. You never know, gotta be safe.

Good, that's where the Guard will set up distribution points in the parking lot.

The counterargument is all it takes is one storm.
We were very lucky the one that blew up last year ended up in Panama City
