I wonder of those that post in these hurricane threads how many actually have ownership interest in property along the coast. I have a house at the beach and a duck camp in sw La so I sweat hurricane season from the Florida panhandle to the La- Tx line. I rarely look at these threads and have got to the point I don’t watch the over dramatic weather channel. I find those that done have anything to lose are just interested in keeping it hyped or stirred up

I don’t get why some people seem to think that participating in discussions about the tropics means that those posters are pulling for destruction. Is it wrong to talk about it, post models, etc.? Just because we are interested in weather doesn’t mean we root for death and destruction.
Also, just because some of us don’t have property to lose on the coast doesn’t mean we aren’t impacted by tropical systems. Hurricane and tropical storm force winds can go well inland (ask people in east Alabama and Georgia who went through Hurricane Opal in 1995), tornadoes can form in the spiral bands inland, flooding occurs inland, etc. So those of us inland in coastal states certainly have a reason to watch what’s happening.

Good thing nothing is currently entering the gulf, the ocean surface temps near Louisiana, Mississippi, and Bama are higher than average right now
