Yeah, I knew someone would post something like that. I don't care what later comics did.

Later comics? It's been happening since the fricking 70s.

When was Capt. America created? Are the 70's later than that?

There you go. Simple math to the rescue.

He was brought back in 64.

His comic discontinued in 50.

You are arguing with no knowledge.

The popularity of superheroes waned following the war and the Captain America comic book was discontinued in 1950, with a short-lived revival in 1953. Since Marvel Comics revived the character in 1964, Captain America has remained in publication.

Adapting Marvel characters is now pandering

Are we talking about female Thor? There was a ton of backlash when the comics did that. Modern Marvel comics is an absolute cesspool of SJW garbage. If they turn the movies into that, they're gonna be making a mistake.

I know. That's what I'm saying. It's marketing, posing as wokeness. These posters are acting like they're all evolved and above it all, but they're just sheeping out to marketing. Kinda funny. Kinda sad.

This the guy that thinks a Halle Berry in her prime could easily pull a billion as a superhero lead.

Halle Berry in tight black leather is not enough to carry a shitty film

beyonce has a net worth of 500 million dollars. everyone loves beyonce. She was the voice of Nala in the newest Lion King. There is a reason why she was cast.

People literally went to see the the 8th installment of Fast and Furious and it is a top 5 all time grossing movie.

If done properly and marketed well it would sell. Hell if I were her i would finance the entire thing myself. She has the money

Beyonce?? God no.

But their parents do.

So you are saying teenager's parents are paying billions of dollars for their kids to go see these movies and not the more likely answer that millions of adults also go to and enjoy these movies?

Black Panther grossed 1.3 billion dollars in the box office. If they made a black pantherette with Beyonce as lead it would triple the current highest grossing film of all time. Halle Berry in her prime would have easily done a billion dollars today. The right female lead and a quality script/actress and it would make straight bank.

I mean the OP's post is pretty dumb. But this is one of the dumbest things i've read on here in a while

Triple the highest grossing film of all time? You cant be serious. And the reasoning that the two best candidates are already taken is a cop out.

I could be proven wrong, but I suspect that Black Widow will either totally bomb or not meet the studio's expectation.

Beyonce is a global brand. She is top 10 in total instragram followers. Throw in an appearance by Cristiano Ronaldo and you'd get your 6 billion.

i'm not saying it would be a good movie. I'm saying people would go see it because she is in it and because of the Marvel Brand. Kinda like people pre-order StarWars movies. Never underestimate blind brand recognition.

okay okay 6 billion is a bit of hyperbole but I would bet my life savings a beyonce lead Marvel Superhero movie would clear a billion dollars easy in the box office.

Captain America was pretty big.

Iron Man had his own cartoon show when I was A kid.

They were at least B+ Level. They weren’t Spider-Man or X-Men but they weren’t The Iron Fist either.

They were also both good movies. I don't like the pandering, but I am able to sit and enjoy a movie for what it is. I rolled my eyes during endgame, but overall, it didn't take away from my enjoyment of the movie. Because it was a good movie. It's not like I was watching the ghostbusters reboot, which was an absolutely terrible movie. Not because it was an all woman cast, but because it was a shitty movie.

Well you end up with a shitty movie when your focus is an all woman cast and not writing a good movie.

Nobody on this site at least. That's why I still come here. I get some kind of perverse enjoyment from peering into the minds of these people.
