Turns out you didn’t even need to join the waiting list. Still a ton of tickets unclaimed for the season and plenty of sections have two or more side-by-side.

Guess people really did follow through on not renewing due to King and Alleva. Good news is, all you baws can probably still get your seats back.

I've never understood people who view season tickets as an "investment." Investment in what? Making money? Breaking even? You buy season tickets because you want to go to the games. You buy season tickets because you create memories with your family. You buy season tickets to not worry about hassling for tickets before the game. You buy season tickets to support the program.

I got an email from LSU today about season tickets, even though I live in Georgia, so season tickets would be impractical for me. I do make one home game each year, but I can just get a single ticket for that game, instead of wasting money on the 6 games I can’t attend.

Also, for everyone wanting to get season tickets without have to donate extra to TAF, now is your opportunity.

South Stadium Club seating is also available.

There’s just not a lot of practical reason to buy season tickets when you can buy on the secondary market with no TAF fees

Supply/price has definitely exceeded demand.

when every game is available on tv, and you don't have get there at dawn to park anywhere near the stadium for 40 frickin dollars, and then fight traffic following the game, or halftime whatever your choice might be staying home is the obvious choice. I have season tickets but only because I've had them for so long. when I give them up it will be a lot easier.

Agree with Smalls.
It’s funny seeing people work their asses off trying to sell season tickets or individual game tickets while botching that they can’t get their money back.

You buy tickets so you can go to the game

There are a couple of reasons why season tickets will never be too difficult to obtain going forward.

1. The fact is there are only a few games worth going to a year. I'm talking about the games where being in the game and experiencing the atmosphere creates a value proposition. The ability to watch all games with incredible production quality due to the various media out there reduces the value gap between paying to attend and watching at home (this is the other half of the games);

2. The access to tickets has never been greater. We can very easily purchase tickets with little logistical headache due to the numerous exchanges available. The TD exchange is a great example.

This leaves very little value proposition to having season tickets when you can a la carte the season. What's left is the value of having "your" tickets, which may be important to some people. For most, its simply a good to purchase with disposable income like any luxury good.

And nobody wants those shi**y upper deck seats. Television is a much better option than those.

Just started following college football?

This has been going on for a long time. LSU has survived much better than others.

College Football’s Growing Problem: Empty Seats - Announced attendance dropped 3.2% in football’s top division last season, but schools’ ticket scans show even fewer fans in stands

NOT LSU:

Only 25,493 ticketed fans were counted at the gates, 36% lower than the announced attendance and about half of the stadium’s capacity. More than 14,000 people who bought tickets or got them free didn’t show up.

College football has an attendance problem. Average announced attendance in football’s top division dropped for the fourth consecutive year last year, declining 7.6% in four years. But schools’ internal records show that the sport’s attendance woes go far beyond that.

College Football’s Growing Problem: Empty Seats

It wouldn't copy but this is the list of conferences for the above graph. The SEC is doing better than the others but attendance sucks overall.

Scanned tickets

Announced attendance

SEC

Big Ten

Pac-12

ACC

Big 12

Mountain West

American Athletic

Conference USA

Mid-American

Sun Belt

Independen
