It's pretty much a wild arse guess at this point. It all depends on where the bands come on shore and how all of this plays out.
This. In 2016 the flood projections (once they came) were based on rain that had already fallen, and was continuing to fall. In this case they are base on projected rainfall that hasn’t even started yet.
I’m not saying people shouldn’t be prepared - they absolutely should. But just pointing out that there’s still a chance things aren’t as bad as currently projected.
At least that’s what I’m going with, for the sake of sanity.

This will be a very underwhelming rain storm. The meteorologists have done remarkably well in putting the fear in everyone and will all be forgiven when everyone sees how moderate the rain fall will be compared to their doom and gloom predictions.

The real question is... why are you watching WBRZ? WAFB is far superior in weather coverage.

I gotta agree with you there. Hopefully that is worse case scenario. 41 ft will definitely panic a lot of people though.

People live in a flood plain then are shocked by flooding?
I don’t know why taxpayers subsidize this behavior.

This is potentially dangerous information. I suggest anyone concerned spend some time on the storm thread, start back about 20 pages or so now since there haven't been any recent updates. The usual suspects that know what the frick they are talking about and how to interpret the data have all been around. The consensus among them is there are places that are going to get hammered with rainfall, the exact places still remain a little fuzzy since Barry just doen't have his shite together yet.

This forecast is based on the QPF (rainfall) forecast from the WPC. That one sets the heavy rain over Baton Rouge. So from the rain projections this is closer to a worst case.
That band might be east or west of BR, so it can be lower. Depends on what falls.
But also realize there is potential for higher rainfall amounts than projected in the main rain band.

7’ is a lot of water. Maybe he should have moved after the first flood?

Duke, I thought the main rain events have shifted towards Lafayette?

It may end up there. Between St. Tammany and Laffy could get the monster rain band.
I'm thinking it does end up more over the Morganza, but everyone that could get it should be prepared for what happens if you get the huge rains.

Unless you want to Know wind forecasts.
Gaurantee he keeps an eye on those

That would correlate to a lower river crest on the Amite correct?

Or moved.

I got 9.5ft in my business on Florida in 16. Spent the whole day moving stuff up thinking it was 38ft. Now have to go back in tomorrow and move all this shite to the rooftops!
