Yes, unfortunately I can confirm this. I just spoke by text with his brother.

Rest In Peace Coach.

Man that just flat out sucks. That is a HUGE HUGE loss for the state of Louisiana, Baseball in this state, and especially in this area, and UL. That program and it's fanbase are going to have a hard time recovering from this.

Prayers to his family, and to that program. Yall lost a great man, and representative for the game and university.

I’ve talked with Coach a few times years ago and he always stood out because of his attitude towards everyone, especially young kids. Sad sad news to hear. God bless you, sir.

RIP Coach. Lived in Lafayette when I was younger and one of my fondest memories was attending his baseball camp at the Tigue. Great times

Coach Robicheaux

May want to correct thread title to correct spelling "Robichaux"

Otherwise, a very sad day for our state. Rivalries aside, anyone who doesn't think Coach was great for baseball on this state is misguided. A true molder of young men. RIP

Prayers out to the Cajun family. Great coach and a a great person as well.

Pretty sure there is a spot in the Louisiana Sports HoF with his name on it

When I got married, I was a kid that was just a big Cajuns fan and I'd dreamed of taking my engagement photos on the field. I got in touch with Robe's secretary and she gave me Robe's cell number.

I was super intimidated to make that call - he was kind of a big figure to me.

He picked up, made me feel more than welcome and had a grad asst meet me at the locker room offering "anything I needed"

He even called afterward to wish me a happy marriage and make sure that everything went well for us...

Rest easy, Coach. This one is really tough.

This is terrible. He was one of the best coaches in all of Louisiana's rich baseball history.

I’m sitting here at work in tears about this. That man is going to have the biggest funeral in the history of Lafayette.
RIP Coach Robicheaux. Prayers for his family.
