BRCC may as well be Beverly Hills compared to Tuscaloosa.

Tuscaloosa is a shithole I wouldn't live in either. And hell I'll agree that BR>Tuscaloosa.

But that's not saying much.

Less than .2 acres per lot. An this probably doesn't take in to account streets.

Sounds awful.

Canebrake Builders are one of the four/five builders that are allowed to build in The Preserve at Harveston.

Bo Fetzer (COO) of Canebrake and Wampold are the developers of Harveston.

Sounds like they are going to build Harveston type homes in there (similar price point, similar sq ft size, and similar lot size).

Who would do that anywhere near Baton Rouge. Not a sound investment

It's minutes from a Whole Foods and a country club. It's not exactly Plank Road.

That developer just made a pretty smart move. That’s gonna be a sweet paycheck once all that is finished

I understand that and I wouldnt really want to live in lots that small and I prefer the custom homes. And most complaining about "McMansions" I find either live in trailers or old houses from the 60's that are under 2k sf.

Dude it’s cool. You don’t have to be insecure about where you live. Different strokes and all that

Not everyone wants a big yard

According to zillow our lot is .28 acres and it's plenty big enough for us.

Yeah, the last thing I want is a big yard to take care of. I’m happy to just keep my landscaping from dying or being over run with weeds. Not my thing. And for $500,000 and up I seriously doubt you have to worry too much about your neighbors. These aren’t going to be rented out to college kids who party all night and never mow the grass. I know it’s not for everyone, my dad would die if he had any neighbor within eyesight but he also loves getting out on the tractor and taking care of a shite ton of acreage. More power to him!

I grew up on 40 acres and spent half of my youth on a tractor cutting grass. That has little to no appeal to me now. I'm fine with my yard that takes 45 minutes to cut front and back.

That's why you get a cabin on 40 acres of woodland. No yard, no neighbors.

Best of both worlds.

Let's all throw in $20 bucks and buy a home there for our fearless leader, Poultry Boy.
Then we could have an official TD poker night.

I grew up on 40 acres and would much rather live in a city setting (what most folks would consider "homes on top of each other"), than the rural area that I grew up. I have "free" land that I could build a house on, but I'd rather live near conveniences.

It all depends what people want. I'm really not going to hate on any home owner but I'd rather an old house to remodel than a cookie cutter McMansion. Granted, I want to do the remodel myself and it's kind of my thing but to each his/her own. The lower tier cookie cutter subdivisions of like a DR Horton, Level or DSLD are good for first time home buyers that want everything brand new (but depending on the supers and CM can be great or a shitshow)

I just checked mine because I was curious. Apparently my lot is .34 acres, and I've never thought "I wish my yard was bigger".

Yep,,$500k plus houses. There goes 99% of this site regardless of what they might project.

Haha I don't live like that, my subdivision is .8 acres lot. But I wouldn't mind having a little less. When I was supposed to be moving to Texas, I was fine with that kind of lot and a cookie cutter house. It was a bad arse house.

I grew up outside of town and parents of 3+ acres with a pond and are surrounded by 100s of acres of woods. I have no desire to live like that. It was fun when I was younger, boring as hell as I got older.
