I don’t lose my mind but it’s just not the type of music I’m accustomed to... IF you want to call it music.... however it’s caused a culture problem across this country.....rappers are mostly thugs. Just the way it is..... they think they are above the law and hang with other thugs.... just look at the criminals that rappers have turned into... they have a guy in BR know as youngNBA boy that I have never heard of that is sitting in prison right now.....

He's the one that got probation for attempted murder in a drive by. The only reason it wasn't murder is because he's a bad shot.

At one point old people hated Elvis and the Beatles. Old people hate everything.

Audacity. Rappers are to music what Kardashians are to television

Popular culture today is an all around ceptic tank

What about rock groups like Motley Crue, Guns & Roses, Black Sabbath, etc, etc.

They all defined the meaning of "living like a rock star". They were thugs in their own right. Twisted Sister, Warrant, Skip Row.. I could go on.. Even Poison.. Not a fan, but I am sure Kizz had their time.. They all did crazy shite.

Rap takes no talent??

I guarantee if most people were given a week to create one of those Dre type beats or Mannie Fresh etc. you couldn't do it. It seems simple but aint.

But yea most of the trap rap today is trash, just mumbling over simple, dark instrumentals, not like the early 2000s and older

Most of the bands you listed, cheesy in retrospect or not, were phenomenal musicians. Formerly a qualification for making what we use to call "music"

If we go back to the late 80s and early 90s... And we compare..Lets say Guns & Roses and NWA.

While their music was different and each represented a certain lifestyle, how were their actions different? Was what G&R represented better than what NWA represented?

Have rock stars have been dropping dead from rock beefs? I don't remember Axl Rose having a shootout with Bon Jovi.

Hell rappers I've never heard of have been dropping like flies in BR the past few years.

Serious answer: some of it isn’t that bad, especially stuff from the 80s and part of the 90s, but once “hardcore gangster” rap took over it all went to shite.

I think rap from the 90's was pretty awesome. I think it was more "hardcore" then than it ever was or will be. You had Biggie, Dre, Snoop, 2Pac, and many more. They made their own beats back then and what you heard on the track was cut straight from the studio with very little editing capability.

Now you have white collar guys pretending to be hardcore using software programs to make their beats and to make themselves sound better.

Serious question: why do older people hate rap so much?

1. It’s not even music
2. Takes zero musical talent to make
3. It sounds like dog shite

That pretty much sums it up. And the reason older people don’t like it is we grew up in a world where actual music of many types were made. We had rock, country, R&B, Jazz just to name a few. All had their own distinctive style and sound and all were great. So we grew up knowing what great music is. Then rap came along and we knew it was pure dog shite because we had grown up listening to real music.

But you younger kids (and I do honestly pity you) y’all grew up thinking rap was music because y’all didn’t have the musical perspective of us older folks. I compare the younger generations to a guy to thinks cold slice bologna is the best food in the world all because he’s never tasted steak.

Because it's truly bad "music." There is really no other way to explain it.
