Most recent trade rumor this morning:
quote:

New Orleans boss David Griffin trying to get another first-rounder and also a player on a good contract for the No. 4 pick. Told there have been discussions between Pels No. 4 pick and Minnesota involving No. 11 and Robert Covington.

Not crazy about it but doesn't seem like Wolves fans are either. Covington to me is in that like "mediocre starter / good bench" gray area, I'd rather go with Hunter, I think Hunter can be that his rookie season with the upside in the future to be special.

If we stay at #4 I hope we take either Hunter or Garland.
I like Culver too but Hunter really out shined him the championship game and can make an immediate impact.

Thoughts?

I read the Pels may be trying to move back and dump Solomon Hill's contract. It seems to be the worst contract doled out in the ridiculous free agency year.

to do what?
another guard that can't shoot? thats guards and none of them have a reliable jumper. i see no place for Culver on the team.

IMO, Covington is what Hunter most likely turns into. A versatile 3 and D player. If you are sold on him, why not make the trade and pick up an additional asset at 11?

I like Hunter, but I wouldn't put him in the same sentence as upside. Hunter is the low ceiling/high floor type.

He isn't a really explosive athlete and a little stiff. He is a very good and versatile defender and should be a good shooter when he gets more consistent.

The Pels need to decide what they're doing with Hart, Ingram and Ball. If they plan on trading a wing or Ball, I'd draft a wing or Garland to slide into that spot.

Hunter might be a legit pick, but I worry his best role is a small, stretch 4, which is also Zion.

I would kill for Covington in OKC. Strong role guy.

Trade #4 pick this year, 2022 first round pick and Lonzo to Memphis for #2 pick this year.

Covington is a great piece. I’ll take that over the dice roll of a rookie in a 3 player draft.
