Any possible way we can make a move for Steven Adams?

OKC looking to shop him

I know we need a rim protector, I think he'd be a great fit with the team if we don't have to give up too much.

I'd imagine he is on the bottom of the list of resources they want to trade from that list.

sweet. $25 million per year for a dude you can't play in crunch time.

Uh yeah they would give him to us with the 21st pick if we would take him, and we could give them Hill and Moore.

Its a bad contract.

Why love or Adams--when you can get Turner at less money, younger player and better player...

I don't want Adams clogging up Zion's lane for $25m and $27m the next two seasons.

Pelicans don't need anything right now. What they should do is acquire the best talent available regardless of position. Plenty of time to address positional needs later.

I mean, we could do worse..

He would be a guy that can give us 20 minutes a game until Zion takes over at the 5 for crunch time..

If we dont give up anything of value (talking like Hill and Moore for Adams), then sure..

His deal is expiring next season, so not like it's a long term thing

Even if we can’t get turner, there’s still guys in FA who are cheaper and can space the floor.

I think Adam's would be an all star if he didnt have to play by Westbrook. I like his game but to each their own.

Who’s spot would he take in this season’s all star selection in the west? Aldridge? Idk

Bingo. Pelicans can acquire a serviceable big man in free agency with a friendly/short-term contract and not have to trade off the #4 for sub-par returns.

This thread is about Adam's, is he friendly at a higher price?

The per year numbers on his contract indeed suck, but it does expire in 2021. We won't be much of a player in FA this summer, and the class of 2020 is not good at all, so his contract wouldn't actually hurt the Pels that much. I personally wouldn't trade for him, but I would much rather him over Love.

There are other ways to use cap space than FRee agency. He would considerably restrict our team building flexibility. Not cool when we are trying to figure things out.

Part of the issue with taking him is that they are trying to throw in a mid-20s draft pick as well.

Teams seem to be doing what they can to throw off picks in this draft, so I have no confidence we could move it for a future one if we tried.

I feel like Bob Sarver or George Shinn for treating a first like it is dogshit to be scraped off my shoe...
