Seems like today's political climate is focused on issues that are more concept than actuality. Besides infrastructure when was the last time, you had an issue caused by shoddy politicians?

Federal income taxes
Affordable Care Act

These are two that immediately jump to mind that have had a personal impact on me.

Tons of regulatory stuff coming down from the national level all the time that fricks with our business too.

Tax cuts were nice.

But Obama fricked the ever living shite out of my family with his "affordable" health care.

I've had to deal with the EPA on a couple of buildings I own and a piece of property that had a 51 acre lake on it where we had a partial failure of the dam back during the great SC flood a few years ago.

All I can say is frick the EPA nine ways from Sunday. Biggest bunch of bureaucratically malformed fricktards on the planet.

ETA: To clarify the above, all three were nightmares under the Obama administration and all three have been just about cleared up under Trump.

Things that affect society do have a direct effect on your life. Maybe not immediately but for time. Thinking otherwise is how we got turned into clown world.

The others mentioned taxes, healthcare and education so no need to drum those up but I'll add this it's more than just legislation, it's those appointed particularly in agencies you deal with.

Whenever an election takes place you can bet the appointed judges and heads of agencies will carry out the politicians will. You can bet your next paycheck those unelected bureaucrats will "reinterpret" past rulings and pass their own rulings. Ask the border states on having to report to the ATF firearms sales to individuals buying more than one gun. Ask anybody working in industry that has to deal with the EPA. That's just 2 of the too numerous to list agencies.

You may not be directly affected per se, but you will be affected indirectly in every aspect that they have control over. That's why national elections have national consequences.

Don't forget every time you make a financial transaction of any kind.

Don't forget every telecommunication or data transmission, or watch a TV, listen to a radio.

Don't forget every time you start your car or drink water, brush your teeth, take a vitamin or med, every time you eat. Could even say every time you breathe due to EPA air monitoring/regs.

President Clinton directly affected my life by playing God and creating the crisis of Haitians having to be rescued at sea and put into camps on GTMO. The Clinton's corruption with China was horrid.

Today's political world is like nothing I have ever seen. It is so divisive it is frightening. If the democrats get the power they crave; it will be the continuing transformation Obama warned about-- all the way so far left Russia will smile.

I’m an assistant principal of a public school, so federal policy totally effects my day to day dealings on a major level.
