Lakers are trying to expand Anthony Davis trade and create ability to open max salary slot on July 6, sources tell @BobbyMarks42 and me. Lakers offering contracts of Mo Wagner/Jemerrio Jones/Isaac Bonga to additional teams, so LA can satisfy CBA rules on creating $32M in space.

They can go for it as long as it happens on the 6th.

They’re so screwed honestly. I don’t see them winning unless they pull off a miracle during FA

Oh my

They’re gonna have 4 guys on their roster (after a max deal) with no cap space remaining if that works

Which tells me that Griff is saying "frick you" every time Pelinka asks him to wait until July 30th.

Followed up with this

Lakers are aggressively pursuing the purchase of second-round picks in Thursday's NBA Draft too, league sources tell ESPN. Those picks will offer two important things for LA: acquisition of inexpensive labor and ability to exceed the salary cap with those minimum contracts.

This is what LeBron does to every team he’s been on This time it’s gonna backfire badly! He’s in his mid 30’s coming off a injury (which may be a sign of things to come) and stripping team of salary on a couple players to where he’s gonna have to play ALOT of minutes this thing is gonna blow up in LeBron AD and the Lakers face and it makes me smile AD forced a trade to a WORSE run organization!!

So they're going to be giving up more firsts aren't they?

lol.

If I'm Griffin I'd offer some rental space for another unprotected first and pick swap.

As I think it is actually a mistake to try and go max Jimmy Butler or Kemba and be stuck with no depth vs. building out with a lot of smart fitting role players around AD and Lebron.

Could the allure of Issac Bonga somehow cause a bidding war that eradicates this situation for the Mighty LA Lakers?

Pelicans have to agree to this, correct?

Tell Pelinka frick off or give me 3 additional first rounders that would expand an additional 5 years to what they Pelicans are already owed

I honestly don't care what they offer to try and entice us to help them create cap space. We already have EVERYTHING from them. And we need them to be a dumpster fire. They don't know how to construct a team without it being superstars, so force them to have to identify players that fit and watch em crash and burn.

I would give anything for them to dump these players, have woj reporting Kawhi is will to go to the Lakers for the max, and have it fall apart because AD won't waive his kicker. Of course I know in real life he'd fold like a bitch once rich and LeBron tell him what to do.

That wouldn't be close to getting them to the max, if they trade away all 3 for future 2nd round picks, the Lakers based on the contracts would free up 4.8 million in cap space (1.4 MM/1.4 MM/2 MM)

But since they aren't acquiring any new players they take a 900k per empty slot, so 2.7 MM back on their books.

So total they could free up around 2 million in cap space by trading away their three players.

With the dirty dealing lebron had with us going behind the scenes to convince AD to join him in LA, why the frick should we do anything to help them? frick that franchise, they made the original deal and now realize how fricked they are. Leave them in shambles

Here's a live look from a camera inside the Lakers' War Room as Pelinka calculates cap space:

The Lakers may not win the NBA title, but they'll be all set to win the championship of the Big3 league.
