Never understood it. Don't they want some memories to stay with just the family?
I like seeing friends vacation pics and kids doing silly shite at the beach, camping etc.
However I loathe the fricking 40 posts a day with 1-3 pics each. Post once or twice a day with 10-15 pics each. Got it? Good.

This is why I don’t have a FB or any social media for that matter.

People who go on vacation and upload hundreds of pics for FB

It's an easy way for family to see how the trip is going w/o having to call each other.
When i know people are on vacation, i'm interested in pics from their trip. Who wouldn't. Especially if it's some where i have never been.

Man it bothers the shite out of me to be around a picture taker. That's part of the problem with people today, someone post a picture from a certain place, then half the people who sees the pictures decides they want to go to that place so they can take their picture at that location.
It's like the whole feeding pigs in the Bahamas thing.
I seriously think some people don't want to go to places they go to for nothing more than to take their picture at certain locations.
Just go and do whatever. Take a few pictures here and there if you want, but enjoy the moment. Whatever pictures you have, make hard copies, save digital copies of them if you want, but why do you think other people want to see every part of your life?

People are stupid and desperate for attention.

I think the best way to do it is make one post a day about your trip and summarize all the things you did and include all the pictures you took that day. It can be annoying to see multiple posts a day about every little thing, even if you're otherwise interested in what the person is doing on a trip.
As far as keeping it in the family, that's up to the family. And maybe they do have some pictures that they keep to themselves. I solo travel most of the time (but not all of the time) and take a few pics sometimes with people who are with me. But since I don't want people asking me questions about people I'm with, especially if it's a woman, I don't post those pics. So sometimes it looks like I'm solo when I'm really not - and that's just fine. No one needs to know everything about your life.

sucks for them. When people do this they will find themselves more interested in what makes the best picture rather than actually living in the moment. You know as soon as they post the pics they are glued to their phone checking who commented/liked their post.

I don’t know anyone who uploads 100’s, but it’s cheaper than Dropbox or some other picture storage website, unless Facebook has a limit I don’t know about

Facebook has turned from a forum connecting old friends into a boasting and bitching rant that is eons worse than this site.
It is astounding how many people I know that determine how well their day goes based on how many likes they get on a particular post.
