And look, this dude might end up being "right", but nothing in history says he has the slightest bit of information regarding high level trade talks.
He knew that Zubac got engaged and that a couple of dudes got dinner.

I'm not even discussing what is and what isn't holding up a potential deal. I'm just simply discussing that it's not insane to assume that the lakers and pelicans have agreed to some kind of framework of what the deal will look like and the Lakers are trying to operate under those terms and find a way to make it work
I'm also not suggesting that this guy is gospel. Just that he has had some sought of history of being out in front of some stuff, and has been wrong before

Well pelicans hold the asset that is prized most so I would hope they would want that
Also the pelican may be stringing Lakers along out of spite. Just to get what they want elsewhere.

I've said this before on pels talk and ill say it here
trade talks are fluid & they change by the day, hour, minute. this dude could be 100% correct but everything falls through somehow today.
also his post leaves a lot to be desired. Pels/Lakers may have agreed on a framework, but Griff already laid out what the framework would be. so is this news that they are progressing or is this just that the lakers called and said "we are gonna try to get you everything you want"? if its the latter than this is a non story.

I have no doubt that the Pelicans have told the Lakers what the Lakers could do to pull off a trade, but that will also include the Lakers having to flip some of their assets to a third team. I would assume the Pels want Ingram and draft picks from the Lakers, but it's up to the Lakers to flip their other assets for something the Pels want. Doesn't that seem like it's still pretty far off?
I guess my point is, that while the information might be true, it isn't anything really new.

I think it suggests movement. We are no longer simply in the negotiating stage and have reached a point where both sides know where they are and where they need to get to. Does that make things imminent? No. But does it suggest that things are progressing? I think so. At least further than where things got to at the deadline

For sure, I don't think a deadline deal was going to be done regardless of what was offered, because we really had no idea what would be offered by Boston, and what pick the Knicks would land.

Windhorst on the jump just now basically said the same thing as the guy on the Lakers subreddit

Gonna go ahead and take a shot in the dark and say Rich Paul isn’t the one driving the negotiations in those situations
Lol what? Rich Paul isn't driving negotiations between Bledsoe and the Bucks? Then who is?
