“According to ESPN's Dave McMenamin, a lot of people inside of New Orleans' organization wouldn't have to reconsider anything. They were high on the Lakers' offer from the start. Speaking on The Sedano Show, here's what's McMenamin had to say:”

quote:

I spoke to several people within the Pelicans' organization in the past several months that have a really high opinion of Brandon Ingram, and beyond just Brandon Ingram, have a really high opinion of the trade package that was on the table that was ultimately rejected.

quote:

Literally this kid doesn't even have total control of his extremities yet. He's so long, he's got like that newborn deer lack of core strength. For Kyrie Irving to say that he though [Ingram] was defensively tough for him is a huge statement by Kyrie. And it says a lot about the fact that Brandon is making big strides in his core strength. Earlier this year, I saw him get blown by like he was nailed to the floor at times against point guards. He's very quickly adjusting. That's a big deal. He's 21 years old. It defies the imagination. How old was Victor Oladipo when he hit for Indiana? And [Ingram] is way more physically gifted than Oladipo.

The Lakers package certainly improved now that we know that their pick is No.4. The 4th pick + Ingram + Kuzma + Hart and maybe a future pick is a nice deal for AD. We could potentially even move up a spot and still get a guy like Barrett.

For example (if we moved Ingram to move up a spot):

Jrue
Kuzma
Barrett
Zion
Filler

Lakers needs to find anyway that they can to get the second pick. 2nd pick/Ingram/Mediocre player or pick is good enough for me

For the record, this information is not actually about Brandon Ingram or the Lakers, it's about the Knicks and Celtics.

Comes out around the time that we find out that Griffin is now listening to offers from teams.

Like I mentioned in the thread I started, I think the article title is misleading.

We don't know who McMenamin spoke to over the past few months are or whether they are even still with the team. And while I found Griffin's comments interesting, there doesn't seem to be any actual inside info that he values Ingram more than other assets being offered in other trades

Personally, if we do trade with the Lakers and get #4, i'd stay put and draft Garland or Culver, and roll with:
PG- Garland
SG- Jrue
SF- Ingram
PF- Zion
C- ?

or:

PG- Jrue
SG- Culver
SF- Ingram
PF- Zion
C- ?

Can't shoot, frail, has a potential career-threatening issue, doesn't move the ball well, inefficient, and is going to get overpaid.

If this is anything but smoke and mirrors I am going back to my position of questioning Griffin's talent evaluation.

from the same mcmenamin conversation BTW
quote:

According to ESPN’s Bill Plaschke and Dave McMenamin: The #Lakers could reportedly risk losing LeBron James if they whiff in free agency and trade market this offseason.

I am in if they include the following:

Ball
Ingram
Kuzma
Hart
2019 4th pick
2021 1st
2023 1st

And Memphis agrees to send Conley to the dumpster fire out west for:

Ball
Kuzma
The 4th pick.
Solo

We get Hart, Ingram, Memphis’ pick this year, 2021 and 2023 dumpster fire’s picks.

Dumpster fire gets:
Our whiny vag
Conley

0 clue if salaries work.
