Either we drastically improve our 3pt shooting or find a solid rim protector. Otherwise this is probably a 5 seed who finishes around fourth in the conference.

I agree. Where we lose KBW as a rim protector we will have to make it up with better outside shooting next season.

I hope Wade can land another Juco or Transfer Big that would help settle in Watford some

Watford is not a big. He's not going to play like one at LSU.

Finding a KBW replacement is Wade's biggest task.

I think the team takes a step back. It's three most impactful players were waters, reid, and kbw. All gone. I don't see this group shooting well enough from 3 to transition into a guard oriented scoring attack either. Still think they get to double digit wins in conference and make the tourney though.

I know height is really important in terms of rebounding but strength and quickness can make up for what we are lacking in height next season. I looked at college basketball stats and 28 of the top 50 rebounders in college basketball last year were 6'-8" and shorter. LINK Emmitt Williams will likely be LSU's top rebounder next season.

Goal for this team should be 35-36% from 3 this year. That is middle of the pack. Not sure how many people realize how bad we were from 3 this year. Our shooters are much more capable than what the average was this year.

As much as I like/liked Waters I do believe Smart with the extra year and size plus athleticism as mentioned will be a serious mismatch for most teams. We had a slight glimpse of that when Waters was hurt a couple games down the SEC stretch and truly believe this position will be better and will leave open shots for many to benefit down low like Emmitt and Watford

eh. team defense was last year's biggest weakness. that would more than make up for the 3pt%. if lsu can be nearly as good on offense but make strides in team defense, lsu will be a tough out for anyone.

I think the 2019/2020 team takes on more of Smart's dawg persona. I expect them to be way grittier and less pretty.

I don’t know if last year was pretty but damn sure it was efficient and effective. I almost had 3 damn heart attacks last year

I doubt it but hope you’re right. We’re gonna miss KBW more than anyone.

You are 100% correct in this post, but watch out- Tremont and/or his agent post here and will be along shortly to tell you that you don't know what you're talking about. All kidding aside, we WILL be better at point with sr Mays, soph Smart, fr Bishop over soph Waters, fr Smart, jr Mays. Book it.

Taylor is likely to make a major jump as a senior;

I would love so much to see Taylor come out day 1 and just be a completely different player. I have a feeling he’s going to get a lot better in the offseason

Just think about it, he didnt play basketball until his Junior year of high school, so he’s really only played for 4-5 years of his life. The untappex potential is crazy, all he needs is some better coordination tbh

I’m just happy it didn’t all come to an end. I kinda feel like I didn’t quite enjoy the clinch to the season SEC championship or the Sweet 16 run being worried that it was over for good and we’d be wiped off the grid for years.

I think I’m the only person that thought our weakness last year was Naz Reid and his clumsiness with the ball.

I also think Smart will be a more efficient player than Waters was.

Smart, Williams, and Watford will average 10-15.

Just like last year, we will have multiple players over 10 per game. Dumb arse

I liked Naz Reid, his game will only get better, to be honest, he saved us from losing a few games and he was pretty good on the defensive end of the court.

KBW was the MVP last year.

He was very important to the team and had a great year. Each player stepped up at some point and was huge at some point last year and that's what made the team so great.

If I had to pick one MVP though, it would be Mays. He was the only player to start all 35 games, and in the SEC he was in the top 5 for minutes played, 2nd in steals per game and 2nd in free throw %. He averaged 13 points per game and 14 ppg in the tournament. In the beginning of the season when Waters was struggling and Reid and co. just weren't doing much offensively, Mays was the one consistent player and spark each game. And he was huge in big games against Auburn and Tennessee with 20+ points against both (and played all 45 minutes of the Tennessee game with Waters out).

8 deep last year. 3 impact players lost and 1 added. 6 deep.
I’d cool my jets on any other newcomer contributing just yet ..... especially to the level of the 3 we lost. Likely not happening.
Lacking perimeter speed, post presence, shot blocker, someone who can create their own shot.

Good not great team. Potential to be dirty tough knock teams around if they get minds focused on D.
